YORUBA MUST WORK AS A TEAM IN EVERY AREA TO MAKE SURE WE PROTECT OUR HERITAGE ECONOMICALLY, POLITICALLY, AND TRADITIONALLY.

To ensure the survival and prosperity of our people, the Yoruba nation must foster a spirit of unity and collective action across all sectors of society. By working as a cohesive team, we can effectively safeguard our rich cultural legacy and ensure that our influence remains strong in the modern world.

Economically, we must prioritize internal collaboration and mutual support. This involves patronizing Yoruba-owned businesses, investing in local industries, and creating robust trade networks that keep wealth circulating within our communities. By strengthening our economic base, we provide the necessary resources to sustain our development and reduce dependency on external forces.

Politically, unity is our greatest asset. We must speak with a single, coherent voice to advocate for our collective interests and ensure that our representatives are held accountable to the needs of the people. A unified political front allows us to negotiate more effectively, protect our regional autonomy, and ensure that our contributions to the national discourse are recognized and respected.

Traditionally, we have a duty to preserve the customs, language, and values that define us. This requires a concerted effort to pass down our history and moral philosophies to the younger generation. By upholding our traditional institutions and respecting the wisdom of our elders, we maintain the cultural identity that anchors us, ensuring that our heritage is not lost to the pressures of globalization but instead remains a vibrant and guiding force for the future.

Mr. Semiu Shonde, the Coordinator of the Yoruba Artisans Traders Association (YATA), recently conducted an official visit to the YATA head office in Nigeria. The primary purpose of this visit was to personally verify the association’s current operational existence and to assess the significant progress made by the organization in recent times. During his inspection, he expressed profound satisfaction with the steady growth and development YATA has achieved, noting the positive trajectory of the association’s initiatives.

Furthermore, Mr. Shonde outlined a strategic vision aimed at Yoruba traders currently based in Asia. His plan involves creating a streamlined logistical framework that allows these traders to import their goods directly to local members in Nigeria. By facilitating this cross-continental trade, he intends to significantly boost business activities both at home and abroad, fostering a stronger economic network for all members involved.

In addition to these business strategies, he took the opportunity to reaffirm the collective stance of the diaspora. He explained that all Yoruba individuals residing in Asia remain steadfast in their support for our President Hammed Bola.
