Monday morning at CpCenter.
10th of August, 2026.
New week. We are here at work. 😊
After the backend work 😁… ᵐᵒˢᵗ ᵒᶠ ʷʰⁱᶜʰ ʷᵉ ᶜᵃⁿ'ᵗ ˢʰᵃʳᵉ ʰᵉʳᵉ.
Now, back to the things we did last week.
And the week before.
And the week before that. 😁

Routine.
The same feeding, therapy, positioning, personal care, water, comfort and everything else that keeps these children going.
Nothing new or particularly exciting to report.
But necessary.
Very necessary.

So, here we are … children, staff doing the usual Monday morning things and me, standing right inside the therapy room.
The work continues.
And yes, 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. ❤️
You, where were you yesterdy? 😊

Friday, August 7, 2026.

11 am is water time here at Cerebral Palsy Center (CpCenter).

Cold weather or not, the children still get water. They can't tell us they're thirsty, so we make it part of their routine. Many drool a lot, which means they lose more fluid than they should.

Here is Baba, aka Fashola, having his water.
As I walked past, I didn't just see him. I saw comfort ... for him and for the caregiver.
For many children with severe cerebral palsy and oropharyngeal dysphagia (oral motor dysfunction), drinking water is a struggle.

But Baba has a gastrostomy tube, so water time is no longer one. He is relaxed, eyes fixed on the TV, while his water goes in safely.

The tube is expensive, but the comfort and safety it brings are priceless.

Transforming crisis into a miracle. ✨

Let your greatest crisis become your miracle, and through it, do something that moves humanity forward. — Nonye Nweke

Years ago, I faced a profound personal trial. As a single mother, my daughter, Ziim was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a lifelong complex disability.
Instead of giving up, I allowed that pain to become purpose and founded Cerebral Palsy Center (CpCenter).

Today, our Lakowe facility provides free accommodation, care, therapies for children with severe cerebral palsy, and respite for their families … so no family has to walk this path alone.

We survived the storm and built a shelter for others. Every day, that shelter looks like meals prepared, therapies given, medications administered, and children cared for with dignity.
But keeping that shelter open takes a village.

Help us keep these free services going.
Be the miracle a child needs today. ❤️
You can help.
