Yusuf Ja‘far, an independent candidate, emerged 1st place in the Qur’an category and was crowned the Overall Best Winner, receiving a cash prize of ₦50,000.

May Allah (SWT) increase him in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the Deen, and bless all other participating children with success in this world and the Hereafter. Aameen.

*Alhamdulillah!*

On behalf of The Lantern Islamic foundation, we sincerely appreciate everyone who made the Lantern Qur’an and Quiz Competition 2025, held on Sunday, 24th August 2025, a huge success.

Special thanks go to our teachers, Alfas, parents, and our distinguished donors, may Allah reward you abundantly. To our beloved students, we commend your love for the Deen. Continue striving, not only for Duniya but for Akhirah.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The one who recites the Qur’an and learns it, and then forgets it out of negligence, will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection as a bankrupt person.” (Ibn Hibban). This reminds us of the importance of holding firmly to the Qur’an and reciting it consistently.

We are all human, and no one is above mistakes. We wish we could reward every child that did well, not just those who came 1st–3rd, because we felt the efforts and pains of each participant. May Allah increase you all in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Āmeen.

By Allah’s permission, next year will be even better, as we have all witnessed the remarkable improvement from last year’s program.

Once again, Jazakumullahu Khayran to everyone who contributed in one way or the other.
