Rationale For The Ombudsman People’s Forum
In recent times, there have been several issues and developments affecting our country and its citizens. We believe that the unfolding events in the country demands some talkback, feedback and discussion by the people of Nigeria, regardless of ethnic, religious or social background. We believe that a constructive engagement of the people in a forum or con
ference setting where different opinions and feelings of the citizens on burning issues in the country are publicly articulated, and communicated to the ruling powers, will go a long way in finding solutions to the problems of the country. The truth is that the people of Nigeria can no longer just sit back and watch events unfold without lending their own voices, opinions and feelings in the matter in a constructive and inclusive environment. This OMBUDSMAN PEOPLES FORUM will give members of the public, as well as the government functionaries opportunities to interact and share ideas about critical issues in our country in a civil setting. While this Forum will definitely not solve all the problems of Nigeria, it will be one more avenue of engagement to go side by side with other meaningful engagements going on all over the country.
