What happens when girls step into AI and STEM? The future expands.

This International Girls in ICT Day, themed “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future”, celebrates girls who are not just engaging with technology, but redefining what it can do.

At Oando Foundation, through our Digital Literacy and School STEAM projects, we are expanding access to digital learning opportunities that empower girls to build ideas, solve real-world problems, and step confidently into spaces where innovation thrives. Every skill gained contributes to a more inclusive, resilient, and forward-looking future.

We remain committed to creating pathways for more girls to lead, innovate, and shape what comes next.

A single book can change how a child sees the world.

We celebrate the stories, ideas, and knowledge that bring learning to life. Books do more than teach - they spark imagination, build confidence, and open up new possibilities.

Behind every page are authors and creators whose work continues to shape minds and make learning meaningful for generations.

Let us keep the pages turning and the love for reading growing.

Let’s build a reading list in the comments:

This Earth Day reminds us that our planet reflects the choices we make every day. When individuals and communities act together, real progress toward a healthier and more sustainable world becomes possible.

From how we care for our environment to how we educate the next generation, every action counts. It is our collective responsibility that transforms small efforts into lasting impact.

For many out-of-school children, learning starts in the community—not the classroom.

Limited access to safe learning spaces keeps too many children disconnected from education. To truly expand access, we must meet them where they are.

That’s why community reading hubs are critical, creating accessible safe spaces where children can build foundational skills and begin their learning journey.

At the Oando Foundation, we’re reaching the most underserved through community-based learning and targeted mobilization.

Through the LEARNOVATE–FLIP (Foundational Learning Improvement Programme), we’re helping children take their first steps back into learning:
o 120 community reading hubs established
o 10,800+ learners reached

Did you know millions of children in Nigeria are still out of school?

Expanding access to education remains a critical priority for national development in Nigeria. At Oando Foundation, we’re bridging this gap through targeted access and learning interventions.

To date, over 66,000 out-of-school children have been enrolled and supported with back-to-school kits and aids, while sustained investments in teacher training, learning materials, and school systems ensures these children not only attend school but truly learn.

Together, we’re creating a brighter future—one child at a time.
