Hello Leaders,
This week, let one word guide you:
Culture.
Not the poster on the wall. Not the words in a handbook.
But the daily behaviors, the shared respect,
and the energy you bring to every task and every teammate.
Culture is not built in a meeting.
It is built in how you listen, how you respond under pressure,
how you celebrate someone else's win, and how you handle mistakes — yours and theirs.
A strong work culture does not happen by accident.
It happens when each person chooses accountability over blame,
collaboration over competition, and growth over comfort.
And this week, the world has been talking about it.
Just days ago, at Ragan's Employee Communications and Culture Conference in Boston, leaders gathered to discuss how culture is shaped by something many of us avoid: disagreement .
Julia Minson, a professor at Harvard Kennedy School, put it this way:
*"Our goal should be more disagreement, less conflict"*
She explained that disagreement when handled with respect
helps organizations learn, adapt, and predict the future better.
It is not the same as conflict. And it is not something to fear.
The message was clear:
A healthy culture does not require everyone to agree. It requires everyone to listen.
Elsewhere, Novant Health was recognized on Newsweek's 2026 list of America's Greatest Workplaces for Culture,
Belonging and Community . Their president said simply:
"A great culture is everything to us. It's all about teamwork" .
So this week, remember culture is not a buzzword.
It is being debated, celebrated, and built in real organizations, right now.
This Week's Focus:
Choose one small action daily that strengthens the culture around you
a genuine "thank you," hearing someone out even when you disagree,
helping a colleague without being asked, or speaking up with solutions instead of silence.
Culture is not HR's job. It is every leader's responsibility.
And leadership starts with you.
Build what you want to belong to.
Work with integrity.
Lead with kindness.
Have a culture-shaping and productive week ahead, leaders!
