NEW MCC EMERGES FOR MD404 NIGERIA

As we Unwrapped the the stratified layers of fun and excitement promised and well fulfilled at the just concluded 19th Multiple District 404 Nigeria Convention which took place from 6th to 9th of May 2026 at Asaba, One of the many surprises that greeted us was the official announcement of the incoming multiple council Chairperson for the 2026-2027 LSY.

The announcement which was made by the number one Lion in MD404 Nigeria at the Banquet Night, was like a "passing of Torch" ceremony from Lion Dr Ibrahim Jide Bello PMJF NLCF to PDG (Abefe) Adedipe Adekunle Adedoyin PMJF NLCF the incoming MCC.

Having gone through years of experience, with a stellar track record in Lionism, and fulfilled a few required variations, which is the most widely accepted modern framework that focuses on Purpose, Passion, People, Performance, and Persistence, known as the major ingredients for brewing the "5 P's of leadership," and popularly used to guide, evaluate, and develop effective leaders

PDG Adedipe Adekunle PMJF NLCF, a past District Governor, and member of Akure ALA Lions Club of District 404A4, a club he chartered in 2003, and was the chartered secretary. Today, he will be driving our efforts and major goals/initiatives up the ladder of service for the 2026 - 2027 LSY, and we can't wait to feel the impact of his leadership which we envisage will foster bigger accomplishments in our unending service to humanity.

The Multiple District Convention has been making waves at Asaba for the past couple of days, with thousands of Lions dominating the Delta State capital's landscape and generating revenues for the Amaka city.

A delegated team of Lions being led by the multiple council chairperson, Lion (Dr) Ibrahim 'Jide Bello PMJF NLCF took the flagship of hope to the government House on Thursday 7th of may 2026 to pay a courtesy visit to His excellency Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. The Governor received them well, commending them for all their great works and sacrifices in service to humanity, reiterating that all of Lions efforts weren't going unnoticed.

The MCC presented the governor with an icon of leadership for excellence award, in recognition of his exemplary leadership and developmental achievements in Delta State. He said Asaba was chosen because of its peaceful atmosphere, improved infrastructure, accessibility, and the security being experienced under the Oborevwori administration. Commended the Governor for creating an enabling environment which Lions saw accommodating enough, and instigated them to bring their 19th annual convention, which is their major event of the year to Delta State. The MCC further commended the Governor's developmental efforts in health-care, security, and social empowerment. Stating that the Delta State Government's M.O.R.E agenda aligns with the humanitarian visions of Lions Clubs International.

The Governor appreciated the award and the honour dearly, thanking Lions for choosing Asaba for the second time to hold the convention, describing it as an honour. He acknowledged the Delta State Deputy Governor, Lion Sir Chief Monday John Onyeme's membership with the organisation, describing him as a man of honour whose service reflects integrity and compassion in service, he also Commended Lions International dearly for their contributions towards humanity, especially through Healthcare interventions, education, hunger alleviation, medical outreach programmes, and environmental sustainability. he said hosting the convention for the second time in Asaba reflects the confidence Lions have in Delta State, describing it as a peaceful and investment friendly destination, and stated that the event will boost tourism, and generate revenue for Delta State, while further describing Delta's hospitality and development stride, and pledged the government's 100% support to Lions for initiatives that promotes sustainable developments, and humanitarian service. He rounded up by wishing them well in all their humanitarian endeavours

My Great Lions and Leos

I trust everyone had a safe journey back home to their various destinations. It was indeed a great pleasure having everyone of you from the Multiple District converge once again for such a memorable event. With you there, our efforts towards planning for the event was worth the while as Lions signed their signatures of hope on the sands of the Amaka city and made history once again

Specal thanks to everyone who supported and contributed in one way or the other towards the success of the convention. Your physical, intellectual, and financial contributions fostered excellence in the energy that lit up the event

And to everyone who made it to Asaba for the convention, your presence added colour to the event and indeed made it such a glamorous success.
