Applications are now open for mentors in the Global Mentorship Program (GMP) 4.0!

Our mentorship program is structured around two dedicated tracks:

𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤
Designed for graduates seeking guidance on their educational journey. Mentors support mentees with academic planning, research opportunities, postgraduate applications, scholarship applications, study skills, and navigating the transition from education to the next stage of their careers.

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤
Designed for individuals preparing for or advancing in the workplace. Mentors provide career guidance, industry insights, professional development support, CV and LinkedIn reviews, job search strategies, networking advice, and leadership development to help mentees achieve their professional goals.

As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise, inspire growth, and contribute to the development of Africa's next generation of leaders and professionals.

Meet one of the Speakers!!!!

Professor Caroline Dessent is a Professor of Physical and Analytical Chemistry and a recent Head of the Department of Chemistry at the University of York. Her research focuses on spectroscopy, photoactive molecules, and biological systems, alongside a strong commitment to advancing inclusive practices within the chemical sciences.

She has held prestigious fellowships and leadership roles within the scientific community, including serving as Chair of the Royal Society of Chemistry Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group and contributing to the RSC Faraday Council. She led the Department of Chemistry’s Gold Athena SWAN submission and has been actively involved in initiatives to decolonise the chemistry curriculum and improve the experiences of underrepresented groups in science.

At ChemBridge 2026, Professor Dessent brings a unique combination of scientific expertise, institutional leadership, and a deep commitment to equity and inclusion in chemical education and research.
