One of the exciting things about the month of October is that we get to celebrate the Girlchild all over the World on the 11th day of the month.

And the most exciting aspect of this, is our Annual Girls' Summit that comes up in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child. The theme for this year's celebration is, "THE GIRL I AM, THE CHANGE I LEAD: GIRLS ON THE FRONTLINES OF CRISIS". The theme recognizes that girls are not just victims of crisis but are actively leading change and responding to global challenges. It also emphasizes empowering girls to take active roles in shaping their own futures and the world around them. We can't wait to unpack this at the Summit!

We will be hosting the Girls of CEDEC International Schools, Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria on Thursday the 9th day of October, 2025 at this year's Summit and it promises to be a great time of learnings, empowering and lots of fun 🤩

A great time it was, when we hosted the Girls of Grandmates Secondary School in Lagos this last Monday, in commemoration of the International Day of the Girlchild.

Starting from the Compere of the event, Busayo Yetunde Davies , who did a fantastic job at it. All the Speakers were awesome, from Rita Bada, who spoke on the theme for this year's celebration, "Girls Vision for the Future", to Oyindamola Adebowale on Mental Health of the Girlchild, with emphasis on developing a healthy self esteem and the Convener, Omotayo Agunbiade on S*xual Purity.

Many thanks to Sankin Industries Limited, makers of Ladycare Sanitary pads for their constant support especially the beautiful T-shirts, menstrual hygiene leaflets and Exercise Books given out to the Girls.

It was indeed an impactful event! And the Girls, they were fantastic!

The International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated annually on October 11th. The day aims to promote Girls' empowerment, education, and rights, while also addressing other challenges they face. The theme for this year's celebration is, "GIRLS' VISION FOR THE FUTURE".

Still in the mood of the Day of the Girlchild, we will be hosting the Girls of Grandmates Secondary School, Ago, Okota, Isolo Lagos State at this year's edition of Girls' Summit on Monday, the 21st Day of October, 2024.

The goal is to empower the Girlchild for a brighter future and we are intentional about this.
