W.TEC is a Nigerian non-governmental organization working for the economic and social empowerment of girls and women, using information and communication technologies (ICTs). Since 2008, we have worked hard to educate the wider public about the importance of gender equality in technology through training, speaking at conferences, hosting public discussions, media interviews and presenting our results and alumnae.

Three months after our digital skills training in Ikorodu, we went back for a post-project visit to catch up with our incredible participants—and the progress is phenomenal!

During our focus group session today, hearing how these women have transformed classroom lessons into real-world wins was nothing short of inspiring:

• Global reach: One participant shared how she has started designing professional flyers for clients, including an individual based abroad!
• Community momentum: Another is actively growing her online presence, seeing a steady boost in her followership and engagement.
• New career paths: And another proudly shared that she now operates and identifies as a full-fledged digital marketer!

Seeing these ladies turn training into tangible income, career pivots, and business growth three months down the line is why we do what we do. The digital economy is vast, and our women are claiming their space! ❤️
