Rhoda Serene Care Foundation and Arise for Girls Commend the Safe Rescue of Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren and Teachers
Rhoda Serene Care Foundation and its flagship initiative, Arise for Girls, warmly commend the Nigerian security agencies and all stakeholders involved in the successful rescue of the abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
We celebrate this encouraging development and share in the relief and joy of the families, schools, and communities whose loved ones have safely returned. Every child deserves to learn in a safe and secure environment, free from fear, violence, and intimidation.
While we celebrate this rescue, we also call for stronger and sustained efforts to improve the safety and protection of children in schools and communities across Nigeria.
School-related abductions leave lasting emotional and psychological effects on children, families, and educators. We therefore urge that the rescued children and teachers receive comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and trauma support to aid their recovery.
We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, loved ones, and colleagues of the security personnel and all those who lost their lives during the rescue mission. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting lives will never be forgotten. We stand in solidarity with those mourning this painful loss and pray for comfort, strength, and peace for every bereaved family.
As an organization committed to child protection, girls' empowerment, mental health, and safeguarding, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for policies and actions that protect every child's right to education, safety, and dignity.
Together, let us continue to build a Nigeria where every child can learn, dream, and thrive without fear.
