*WEDNESDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK OF ADVENT *

*SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER, PRIEST*

📕 *First Reading:*
Isaiah 25:6-10

*Responsorial Psalm:*
22(23)

🔁 *Response*
In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever.

📘
*Gospel Reading:*
Matthew 15:29-37

*CHRIST THE ONLY SOURCE OF TRUE SATISFACTION*

*“They all ate and were satisfied.” —Matthew 15:37.*

A side effect of the Eucharistic miracle in today’s Gospel was that over four thousand people were satisfied after a meal (Mt 15:37). All too often in Scripture, a meal ends with dissatisfaction (Nm 21:5), breaking of faith (Gn 25:29-34), deception (Gn 27:25ff), and sometimes violence and death (Gn 37:25ff; Dn 5:1ff, 30).

Jesus’ Eucharistic meal with His apostles, the Last Supper, also ended in betrayal, denial, and death. However, in the Eucharist, Jesus has triumphed over human sins and failings. He has transformed human dissatisfaction into satisfaction (Mt 15:37), thanksgiving (Mt 15:36), and the joy of the heavenly banquet to come (Rv 19:9; see also Is 25:6).

The world and the devil attempt to sow dissatisfaction in us. In fact, worldly advertisements aim at identifying our dissatisfaction or creating dissatisfaction in the lives of those who are currently satisfied. Therefore, we must break away from the messages of the world to be able to fully receive the Bread from Heaven and be satisfied according to God’s standards.

Numerous Catholics today do not receive the Eucharist with reverence, love, attentiveness, and holiness, thus putting themselves at risk of dissatisfaction and even bodily harm (1 Cor 11:27-30). Jesus plans for His heavenly food to nourish rather than harm us, but it’s up to us to receive Him rightly. Fix your eyes on the Eucharistic Jesus (Heb 12:2). In the Eucharist, Jesus sacrificially satisfies our every need (Ps 145:16; 81:16). Eat the flesh of the Son of Man (Jn 6:56) and be satisfied (Mt 15:37).

*Today’s Wisdom Drop*

1️⃣ The emptiness we carry is not a sign of failure but an invitation to seek Christ’s fullness.

2️⃣ Where human love falls short, divine love fills the gap completely.

3️⃣ Those who feast on Christ never walk away hungry, only transformed.

4️⃣ When life leaves you empty, Christ becomes the abundance that cannot be exhausted.

5️⃣ Hearts starved for meaning find nourishment only in the One who created them.

6️⃣ Where others see scarcity, Jesus creates surplus both in bread and in grace.

MY EARLY MORNING LESSON
TOPIC: DEMONS DO NOT FEAR EMOTIONS; THEY FEAR AUTHORITY...

See, in a world where emotions rise and fall like waves in a restless ocean, many people have mistaken spiritual warfare for emotional expression. They think tears intimidate the enemy. They think fear weakens him. They think shouting without faith shakes hell. In all sincerity, deep down, I know that demons do not fear emotions; they fear authority. They flee not from your feelings but from your faith. You can cry from morning till night, but tears do not cast out darkness. You can be angry, frustrated, discouraged, overwhelmed, yet your emotions do not move the devil. What moves him, what terrifies him, is the child of God who knows who they are, who knows whose they are, and who speaks with the authority of a child of God. The enemy is not afraid of a man who feels deeply; he is afraid of a man who believes deeply. He trembles before a woman who stands not on emotion but on revelation. He bows when he hears the voice of someone who understands the weight of spiritual authority.vThis is why the Bible says in James 4:7, “Resist the devil and he will flee from you,” not cry before the devil. Authority, not emotion; faith, not feelings, revelation, not reaction. When Jesus faced storms, He didn’t panic, cry or negotiated with that troublesome season of his life; he spoke to it with and in authority: “Peace, be still." That's authority, and creation obeyed.

When Jesus confronted demons, He didn’t shout from fear or agitation. He commanded with calmness: “Come out of him." That's authority, and darkness ran. See, feelings are good, God gave them to us. But feelings were never meant to lead you. They were never meant to be the engine of your spiritual life. Feelings fluctuate, but faith anchors. Feelings tremble, but authority stands. Feelings react, but faith declares. The enemy studies your emotions. He sees when you are tired. He knows when you are discouraged. He senses when your heart is trembling. But he does not flee because you feel weak; he flees because you speak with authority even while you feel weak. The beauty of faith is that it is not the absence of emotion; it is the decision to rise above emotion. It is not pretending you are strong; it is declaring that God is strong in you. It is not denying your pain; it is reminding your pain that you serve a living God who reigns. Speak with faith, not feelings. Speak to your mountains, battles, fears, dry places and even your destiny. Heaven responds to faith, hell retreats before authority. Angels move when they hear God’s word in your mouth. Demons scatter when they hear you speak with conviction. Do not let your heart lead your mouth. Let the Word of God lead your voice. There is power when you speak what God has spoken. There is victory when you declare what heaven has declared. So rise today, not in emotion, but in revelation; not in tears, but in truth; not in fear, but in faith.

Demons do not fear your feelings, they fear your authority, and the authority in you comes from the one who said in Luke 10:19, “I have given you power to trample over serpents and scorpions." Stand tall, speak boldly and declare fearlessly. It is well!

MY EARLY MORNING LESSON
TOPIC: WHEN GOD WANTED TO MAKE A KING OUT OF DAVID, HE HANDED HIM A GIANT

See, when God wants to make something great out of you, He rarely starts with comfort. He starts with challenges. He doesn’t place a crown on your head first; He places a giant in front of you. Listen, crowns are for kings, but giants are for the making of kings. When God wanted to build David, He didn’t give him a throne; He gave him Goliath. Why? Because every destiny must be trained before it is enthroned. Every purpose must be refined before it is revealed. And every greatness must first pass through a season of giants, giants of fear, giants of doubt, giants of rejection, giants of delay, giants of betrayal, giants of hardship. Battles are often disguised blessings. What looks like a fight is often a ladder. What appears as a threat is often a test. What stands as a giant is often a gateway. Your battles are not signs of God’s absence, they are proof of His preparation. God does not prepare the throne for the man; He prepares the man for the throne. And the preparation is never in the palace. It is in the field, with lions and bears. It is in lonely nights and hidden places. It is in moments when you feel forgotten by men but held tightly by God. Scripture says, “For the Lord does not see as man sees,” He knows exactly what He is building inside you. When David stood before Goliath, God was not merely giving him a victory; God was giving him visibility. That battle revealed who David already was inside. It didn’t make him strong, it exposed the strength he had gained from previous hidden battles. That moment announced the king that had been shaped in secret.

Don't get it twisted; your battles are your training ground, your challenges are chisels in God’s hands, your difficulties are divine classrooms, your delays are divine preparations and your struggles are spiritual workouts. There are certain levels of grace you cannot carry until you have faced certain giants. There are certain heights you cannot climb until you have conquered certain valleys. There are certain doors God will not open until you have outgrown certain fears. Giants are not meant to break you, they are meant to build you. What you call a problem, God calls preparation. What you call a setback, God calls setup. What you call a crisis, God calls a classroom. If God handed you the crown too early, the weight would crush you. So He strengthens your shoulders with battles. He builds your stamina with trials. He enlarges your heart through pressure. He deepens your wisdom through adversity. He matures your spirit through warfare. The giant before you is not a sign that God is punishing you; it is a sign that God is trusting you. If David had run away from Goliath, he would have run away from his throne. Every time you step back from a battle, you step back from a blessing. Every time you avoid a challenge, you avoid a chance for growth. Every time you refuse a fight, you refuse a future. So stand firm. Your Goliath is not the end of your story; he is the turning point. The giant in front of you is a divine announcement that something greater is coming.

Child of God, don’t despise your training ground, don’t curse your challenges, don’t fear your giants; they are shaping you, strengthening you, preparing you. God is using them to enlarge your capacity, to sharpen your gifts, to deepen your trust, and to form a kingly heart within you. Be strong; you won't end badly!

Candles in Catholic Worship
The Catholic Church has a rich tradition of using candles in worship, symbolizing Christ as the Light of the World. Here's what the Bible, Canon law, and the Catechism say about candles:

Biblical Significance
- Jesus is referred to as the "Light of the World" in John 8:12, symbolizing spiritual illumination and guidance.
- Candles represent prayer, sacrifice, and devotion, as seen in various biblical passages, such as Leviticus 24:2-4 and Revelation 4:5 ¹ ².

Canon Law and Guidelines
- The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM) requires candles to be used at every liturgical service as a sign of reverence and festiveness.
- At least two candles must be lit for Mass, with more allowed for solemn feasts.
- Beeswax candles are preferred, but substitutes are permitted if needed.
- Candles should be placed on or near the altar, not scattered elsewhere ¹ ³.

Catechism References
- The Catechism ties light to Christ's mission (CCC 2466) and the resurrection's importance (CCC 1212).
- Candles symbolize Christ's presence in the Eucharist and the light of faith.
- The Catechism also mentions the use of candles in sacraments like Baptism (CCC 1243) and the symbolism of light in Christian life ¹.

Types of Candles and Their Meanings
- *Paschal Candle*: Symbolizes Christ's resurrection and is lit during Easter Vigil.
- *Altar Candles*: Represent Christ's presence in the Eucharist.
- *Votive Candles*: Offered as prayers or petitions to God or saints.
- *Baptismal Candles*: Lit from the Paschal Candle, symbolizing new life in Christ ¹ ².https://chat.whatsapp.com/KLH4H1bpkDULdXq6XHpk0H

All( rising now, kneeling or standing): St Paul's Song of Love.
After saying these what can we add? If God is for us who can be against us? Since he did not spare his own son but gave him up for all of us, then can we not expect that with him he will freely give us all his gift? Who can bring any accusation against those that God has chosen? When God grants saving justice who can condemn? Are we not sure that it is Christ Jesus, who died--- yes and more, who was raised from the dead and is at Gods right hand --- and who is adding his plea for us? Can any thing cut us off from the love of Christ--- can hardship or distress or persecution or lack of food and clothing or threat or violence; As scriptures
For your sake we are being massacred all day long
Treated as sheep to be slaughtered?
No; we come through all this things triumphantly victorious, by the power of him who loved us. For I am certain of this; neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nothing already in existence and nothing still to come, nor any power, nor the height, nor the depth, nor any created thing whatever, will be able to come between us and the love of God, known to us in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
All: (now with head bowed to the ground, touching the ground again) Conclusion:
Most Loving and Most Holy Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit: we adore You Most Profoundly: we offer You the Body, blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all Tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the sacrileges, outrages and indifferences by which He is offended and by the Merits of His Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart of Mary, we ask for conversion of all sinners especially sinners in Your Divine Project. Amen.
Leader: Come Lord Jesus;
All: The Way, the Truth and the Life.
Leader: In the Name of the Father;
All: And of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Short Version.
In the Short version of this prayer, only Paul's Song of Love is Skipped. Then every other part of the prayer is retained and maintained.

Two months after the declaration of year of Faith by the Holy Father, pope Benedict XVI, the Chaplet of Faith was given to the Catholic Divine Project during a vigil prayer by members of the project in Nigeria during which our Lord instructed that all Catholic Faithful should solemnly pray the Chaplet from this year of Faith and beyond; and doors of Miracles, Signs, and Wonders will open for all because faith works wonders and wonders come from faith and Faith is a product of the Church. People will no longer look for miracle outside the Church if Catholics pray the Chaplet of faith with sincere heart, bishops who approve the Chaplet of Faith to be prayed in their dioceses will enjoy special Divine protection.

PRAYER BEFORE A CRUCIFIX
All: Look down upon us, good and gentle Jesus
while before Your face we humbly kneel, and,
with burning soul, pray and beseech You
to fix deep in our hearts lively sentiments
of faith, hope, and charity;
true contrition for our sins,
and a firm purpose of amendment.
While we contemplate, with great love and tender pity,
Your five most precious wounds,
pondering over them within us
and calling to mind the words which David,
Your prophet, said to You,
(Pause for 3seconds)
My Jesus:
"They have pierced My hands and My feet,
they have numbered all My bones." Amen.
Leader: Come Lord Jesus;
All: The Way, the Truth and the Life.
