Strengthening Respiratory Care in Nigeria: Empowering Nurses to Tackle Asthma and COPD

Respiratory diseases such as asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) remain a growing but often overlooked public health challenge in Nigeria. Today, we join the world in celebrating the strength, resilience, and limitless potential of girls everywhere. The International Day of the Girl Child is a reminder of our shared responsibility to create a world where every girl can learn, lead, and thrive without barriers.

At C21st, we remain committed to advancing opportunities for girls — through education, empowerment, and leadership development. When we invest in girls, we invest in a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future.

Let’s continue to stand with girls, amplify their voices, and support their dreams.
Together, we can build a future where every girl’s potential is fully realized. 💫

On August 25th and 26th, 2025, I had the honor of attending the Youth Against Violent Extremism (YAVE) launch and inauguration program in Abuja, sponsored by ActionAid and PCVE KIRH. The event was both timely and impactful, bringing together young leaders from across Nigeria who are dedicated to fostering peace, resilience, and civic engagement within their communities. It provided a critical platform for youth advocates to engage in meaningful dialogue about the realities of violent extremism in Nigeria, emphasizing the urgent need for tailored approaches that address the specific challenges faced in different regions of the country....

By Simileoluwa Adewale When we talk about sustainability in Nigeria, it often feels like a distant conversation reserved for policymakers or global summits. But for me, sustainability is not abstract. It is about the wetlands disappearing near our homes, the waste piling up in our communities, the floods sweeping through our cities, and the opportunities that renewable energy could unlock for millions of young Nigerians....
