CEWHIN successfully held a Closeout Event in Osun State for Project Hope - Strengthening Existing VAWG/SGBV Prevention and Response Structures for Women and Girls with Disabilities in Lagos and Osun States, Nigeria, supported by the United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence against Women UN Trust Fund to End VAW .
The event provided an opportunity for stakeholders to reflect on the progress made throughout the 3-year project, share lessons from implementation, and identify practical steps to sustain the systems and partnerships strengthened through the project.
Government agencies, service providers, civil society organisations, media representatives, Community Psychosocial First Aiders, interpreters, teachers, social welfare representatives, and other partners came together to reflect on their roles in strengthening disability-inclusive prevention and response to violence against women and girls.
During the event, CEWHIN recognised selected stakeholders and institutions for their strong commitment, partnership, and support in promoting disability-inclusive responses to violence against women and girls.
We appreciate the United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UNTF) for supporting this work and and we thank all partners and stakeholders who worked with us to promote safer and more inclusive communities for women and girls with disabilities.
As we close this phase of the project, CEWHIN remains committed to strengthening systems that protect the rights, safety, and dignity of women and girls with disabilities and ensure survivors can access the support they need.
