Today, we celebrate Democracy and the enduring values of freedom, justice, participation, and accountability.

Democracy thrives when every voice is heard, and every citizen has the opportunity to contribute to issues that concern them.

As we reflect on our democratic journey, let us renew our commitment to promoting equality, protecting human rights, and strengthening institutions that serve all people, especially women, girls, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria!

As our lives become increasingly digital, technology creates opportunities for connection, participation, and empowerment. At the same time, it can be weaponized to perpetrate abuse, harassment, surveillance, and exclusion often with disproportionate impacts on persons with disabilities.

Tomorrow, CEWHIN’s Executive Director, Atinuke Odukoya, will be speaking at the NO MORE Global Summit on Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) 2026 alongside Julie Kun in a session exploring the impact of technology-facilitated abuse on people with disabilities.

The session will examine how technology-facilitated abuse affects people with disabilities, the unique barriers they face in seeking support and protection, and the actions needed to build safer, more inclusive digital spaces for all.

We look forward to contributing to this important conversation and learning from advocates, practitioners, and experts working to address technology-facilitated gender-based violence globally.

The summit is hosted by NO MORE in partnership with UN Women.
