‎LNSC ARRESTS THREE OVER ALLEGED BURGLARY IN EREDO

‎Eredo, Lagos | 15 September 2026

‎Operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Eredo Command, have arrested three suspects over alleged burglary, stealing and criminal conspiracy at Odogbonle CDA, Eredo. A scrap dealer was also arrested in connection with the alleged purchase of stolen cables.

‎Residents alerted the Command at about 6:30 a.m. after alleged burglaries at the apartments of Mr. Fadilulai Onabajo, Mr. Oluwaseun Areh and Mr. Oladunjoye Yusuf. Operatives arrested Philip Jurgak of Plateau State, while further investigation led to the arrests of Julius Daniel and Ubah Sunday, both from Benue State.

‎Preliminary findings reportedly linked the suspects to alleged thefts of cable wires, iron rods, clothes, footwear and other items from the affected buildings on 14 August and 15 September 2026. Community members reportedly apprehended Jurgak while he was allegedly moving items on a motorcycle and alerted the LNSC.

‎Scrap dealer Mustapha Bello was also arrested over allegations that he purchased some of the stolen and burnt cables.
‎
‎The suspects were transferred to Noforija Police Station for further investigation and possible prosecution. All allegations remain subject to investigation and due process.

LNSA TASK FORCE CLEARS VICTORIA ISLAND, LEKKI-AJAH AREAS, ARRESTS OVER 130 SUSPECTED HOODLUMS.

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) special taskforce, led by the General Manager, Prince Dr. Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan, FISN, JP, conducted an early morning raid in and around Victoria Island, Lekki-Ajah axis and parts of the Coastal Road, resulting in the arrest of 130 suspected hoodlums.

The operation, which commenced at approximately 2am, was carried out with support from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), and an armed detachment of the Nigeria Police Force, enabled by the Chief Security Officer to the Governor, Mr. Kunle Fagbemi, following reports of criminal activities targeting motorists, particularly during traffic congestion.

The suspects, after screening, were presented to the LASSRA Team domiciled with the LNSA for identification and profiling. Following careful and thorough investigations, the suspects will be charged before the appropriate courts, while those requiring alternative intervention will be handled in accordance with the law.

Speaking on the operation, the LNSA General Manager reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring that motorists and residents can move freely without fear of harassment or attack.

The LNSA General Manager commended all supporting agencies for their professionalism, coordination, and commitment to the success of the operation. He also appreciated the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Gbenga Oyerinde, for their continued support towards strengthening security across the State.

The Agency assured residents that similar joint operations will be sustained at strategic locations across Lagos to deter criminal activities and enhance public safety.

LNSA, LSSTF EXPLORE SMART TECHNOLOGIES FOR SECURITY, EMERGENCY RESPONSE.

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), in collaboration with the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), has commenced the exploration of advanced technologies to strengthen Lagos State’s security and emergency-response architecture.

The exercise focused on Artificial Intelligence-powered CCTV surveillance, drones, biometric identification, emergency communication and command-and-control systems, aimed at improving intelligence gathering, situational awareness and response time.

Speaking during the exercise, the LNSA General Manager, Prince Dr. Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan, FISN, said the initiative was part of efforts to prepare the Agency for the next phase of Lagos’ security architecture.

“Our vision is to ensure that Lagos State hits the ground not just running, but running effectively and efficiently,” he said.

He stressed that the goal was to integrate technology, intelligence, trained personnel and inter-agency collaboration to build a more effective and responsive security system.

The General Manager commended the collaboration with LSSTF, describing it as a reflection of the State Government’s commitment to innovative and sustainable approaches to security financing, technology adoption and institutional development.

Oyekan reaffirmed LNSA’s commitment to leveraging innovation and technology to enhance community safety and contribute to a safer and more secure Lagos.

GM LNSA VISIT LETI, HARPS ON PERSONNEL VIGILANCE AND ALERTNESS.

The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), Prince Dr. Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan, FISN, has urged officers to remain vigilant, alert and focused at all times in the discharge of their duties.

Oyekan gave the charge while addressing the second batch of officers participating in the Agency’s annual in-service training programme at the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI).

He called on LETI to strengthen its training curriculum with practical approaches that would enhance officers’ mental preparedness, situational awareness and responsiveness to emerging security challenges.

The Head of LETI, Mrs. Bonnie Taiwo, also encouraged the officers to put in their best and make the most of the training to improve their professional competence.

Prince Oyekan commended the officers for completing another cycle of the training, noting that the State Government under the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Mr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat remains committed to continuous capacity building and the welfare of personnel to ensure optimal performance.

The LNSA helmsman congratulated the officers on completing another cycle of the annual training, noting that continuous capacity building remains essential to enhancing their professional competence, effectiveness and ability to respond appropriately to emerging security challenges.

SANWO-OLU REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SECURITY, LNSA BOSS SEEKS STRONGER COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing the need for collective efforts to achieve a safer Lagos.

The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Abimbola Hudeyin, stated this at the 13th Annual Summit of the Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS).

Speaking at the summit, the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), Prince Dr. Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan, FISN, described residents as the greatest strength of community-based security and called for stronger cooperation between communities and security agencies.

Oyekan urged residents to provide timely information and desist from tolerating criminal activities, while appreciating Governor Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat for their continued support towards strengthening the Agency’s operational capacity.

The summit focused on enhancing community-based security through stronger collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions, community structures and residents.
