‎SPECIAL OFFENCES COURT SENTENCES SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING LAGOS BLACK SPOT RAID.

‎The Special Offences Court sitting at Bolade, Oshodi, has sentenced several suspects apprehended during a recent statewide raid on criminal black spots and hideouts across Lagos State.
‎
‎The suspects, who were arrested during coordinated operations carried out by the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) Corps arm , were arraigned before the court after failing to provide satisfactory accounts of their activities and movements.
‎
‎Following the court proceedings, some of the convicted persons were remanded at the Ikoyi and Kirikiri Correctional Centres, while others were transferred to the Badagry Correctional Centre for custody. The court also directed that a number of offenders identified as having substance abuse challenges be admitted into government-approved rehabilitation facilities, including the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, for treatment and rehabilitation.

‎In addition, some low-risk offenders were ordered to undertake community service within their respective localities as part of corrective and restorative justice measures aimed at reintegrating them into society.
‎
‎The convictions followed a massive enforcement operation targeted at criminal hideouts, drug dens, and other identified black spots across the state. The exercise forms part of the Lagos State Government's under Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Mr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat's leadership ongoing efforts to combat crime, curb substance abuse, and improve public safety.

‎Reaffirming the Government's commitment to maintaining law and order, the Prince Dr Ifalade Oyekan FISN stated that similar operations would continue across the state to ensure that criminal elements have no safe haven in Lagos.
‎
‎Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and support security agencies by reporting suspicious activities, criminal hideouts, and other security concerns. Reports can be made at any LNSA office located across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State, or through other approved communication channels.
‎
‎The Lagos State Government reiterated that offenders will continue to face prosecution where necessary, while those requiring rehabilitation will be given the opportunity for treatment and reintegration in accordance with the law.

‎As part of the ongoing war against crime and criminality in Lagos State, the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has carried out a massive statewide raid of identified blackspots, criminal hideouts, and shanties across the metropolis, leading to the arrest of 279 suspected criminals, hoodlums, and miscreants.

‎Speaking while parading the suspects at the Agency's Headquarters in Bolade, Oshodi, the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan FISN, warned criminals and other individuals with unlawful intentions to stay away from Lagos State or face the full weight of the law.

‎According to Oyekan, the operation was carried out from the late hours of Sunday through Monday as part of the State Government's sustained efforts to rid Lagos of criminal elements and maintain law and order. He explained that the exercise was intelligence-driven, leveraging the Agency's extensive network of community informants and operatives to identify blackspots and criminal hideouts in various parts of the state.

‎The General Manager disclosed that a total of 279 suspects, comprising 274 males and five females from different parts of the country, were arrested for various offences, including theft, public nuisance, and other criminal activities. He noted that many of the suspects had no means of identification and could not provide verifiable residential addresses.
‎
‎Oyekan further revealed that some of those arrested for constituting public nuisance were individuals who allegedly entered Lagos aboard lorries and vehicles commonly used for transporting livestock and goods into the state. He emphasized that while every Nigerian has the constitutional right to reside and move freely within any part of the country, Lagos State will not tolerate criminality or activities capable of undermining the peace and security enjoyed by residents.

‎"The exercise is in line with the mandate of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Dr. Obafemi Hamzat to ensure that Lagos retains its position as the safest and most secure state in Nigeria despite its large and growing population. Through our intelligence network and collaboration with sister security agencies, we will continue to ensure that law-abiding residents feel the presence of government while criminals find no hiding place in Lagos," he said.

‎The LNSA boss also disclosed that two suspects were apprehended while allegedly attempting to steal a submersible pumping machine from a residential apartment. Several others were found in possession of dangerous weapons, including machetes and knives, as well as suspected illicit drugs and other prohibited items.
‎
‎Reiterating the Agency's commitment to public safety, Oyekan stated that the operation would be sustained and expanded in collaboration with relevant security and law enforcement agencies across the state.

‎Following the raid, all the suspects were transferred to the Lagos State Special Offences Mobile Court for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) is calling on all residents to play an active role in safeguarding their communities by promptly reporting suspicious persons, activities, or security concerns.

Security is a collective responsibility, and timely information from members of the public remains one of the most effective tools in preventing crime and ensuring public safety.
Residents who observe any suspicious activity are encouraged to:
Visit any Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) office nearest to them and make a report.

The Agency emphasizes that early reporting can help prevent criminal activities, protect lives and property, and contribute to building safer and more secure communities across Lagos State.
Members of the public are reminded that vigilance saves lives. If you see something unusual, suspicious, or potentially dangerous, do not ignore it. See Something. Say Something. And follow it through. Together, We Can Make Lagos Safer.

LETI Head Pays Courtesy Visit to LNSA General Manager.

The Head of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) Mrs. Taiwo Bonnie paid a courtesy visit to the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) Prince Dr. Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan FISN at the Agency's headquarters in Lagos.

The visit was aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and fostering a productive working relationship in support of the developmental goals of the Lagos State Government.

Welcoming the delegation, the General Manager of LNSA, Prince Oyekan appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the Agency's commitment to promoting community safety and supporting initiatives that enhance the well-being of Lagos residents. ‎The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has organised a three-day training programme for its corps officers aimed at enhancing alertness, professionalism, and effective response to emerging security challenges across communities in Lagos State.
‎
‎The training, held at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, focused on intelligence gathering, surveillance techniques, community engagement, emergency response, and proactive security measures necessary for maintaining peace and public safety.
‎
‎Speaking during the exercise, the General Manager of the Agency Prince Dr Ifalade Oyekan FISN, emphasised the importance of vigilance, discipline, and timely information sharing in strengthening community security and crime prevention. He noted that the continuous capacity-building initiative forms part of the Agency’s commitment to improving operational efficiency and ensuring that officers remain adequately prepared to tackle evolving security threats.

First Lady Holds One-Day Security Seminar for Muslim Women, Ifalade Reiterates LNSA’s Place of Collective Responsibility.

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has reiterated the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding lives and property through a security awareness seminar themed “Security Awareness: When You See Something, Say Something.”

The seminar, held on May 20, 2026, at the Office of the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, focused on promoting vigilance, timely reporting of suspicious activities, and community participation in crime prevention. The lecture was facilitated by Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan, FISN.

The seminar aligns with the continuous efforts of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat to strengthen community security, public awareness, and collaborative policing across the State.

Speaking during the session, the facilitator emphasized that security is not the sole responsibility of law enforcement agencies, but a shared duty that requires active participation from every member of society. He noted that awareness and vigilance remain critical tools in combating crimes such as trafficking, cultism, theft, violence, abuse, and other criminal activities threatening peaceful coexistence within communities.

The presentation further highlighted the Islamic perspective on security, stressing the concept of Hifz al-Nafs — the protection of human life — as one of the key objectives of Islamic law. Referencing Quran 5:32, participants were reminded that preserving a single life is regarded as preserving humanity as a whole.

According to the Agency, the seminar was designed to: promote security consciousness among citizens; encourage prompt reporting of suspicious activities; identify common threats and warning signs within communities; strengthen cooperation between residents and security agencies; and foster peaceful coexistence across Lagos communities.
Participants were urged to remain alert, trust their instincts, avoid risky situations, and promptly report suspicious movements or incidents to appropriate authorities.

The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to community-based safety initiatives and called on residents to support ongoing efforts of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat aimed at strengthening security architecture, promoting community engagement, and building a safer and more secure Lagos.

The seminar concluded with a renewed call for citizens to “see something and say something,” emphasizing that early reporting and collective vigilance can save lives and prevent criminal activities.

LNSA DEPLOYS BULLET-PROOF VESTS, ANTI-RIOT KITS FOR THE FIRST TIME.

In a strategic move to enhance officer safety and further standardize its operations, the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has deployed newly acquired anti-riot gear and bullet-proof vests to its Corps Officers.

While presenting the equipment, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of residents. He noted that this commitment continues to drive the LSSTF’s support through the provision of essential operational tools to security agencies, particularly the LNSA.

In his response, the General Manager of the LNSA, Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan, FISN, commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his pragmatic approach to security and peaceful coexistence across the State.

He also applauded the LSSTF Management for aligning with the Governor’s vision of a safer Lagos.
Prince Oyekan urged officers to ensure proper handling and maintenance of the equipment, emphasizing that they were procured with taxpayers’ funds and must be safeguarded accordingly. He warned that any misuse or negligent damage would attract strict consequences.

He further reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment, alongside its Corps Officers, to delivering on its core mandate of safeguarding the lives and property of residents and visitors in Lagos State.
