In a Special Christmas and New Year Goodwill Message, the Director General, National Cadet Corps Nigeria (NCCN), Cdt. Ogundimu John Pelumi, has commended Officers and Cadets across the Federation for their dedication, discipline, and commitment to national service.

The Director General applauded the resilience and sacrifices of Officers who continue to uphold the core values of the Corps in the face of economic pressures, security challenges, and the evolving demands of national development.

According to him:
“The Christmas season is a period of peace, love, sacrifice, and sober reflection. It reminds us of the importance of unity, selfless service, and renewed commitment to the ideals that bind us together as a Corps and as a nation.”

He urged Officers and Cadets to remain disciplined, safety-conscious, and law-abiding during the festive season, while continuing to project the image of the National Cadet Corps Nigeria with pride, professionalism, and responsibility.

“I call on all members of the Corps to remain steadfast, prayerful, and committed to the service of our communities, states, and our dear country. Let us continue to be agents of peace, leadership, and positive change.”

The Director General reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the growth, restructuring, and institutional strengthening of the National Cadet Corps Nigeria, assuring personnel of purposeful leadership geared towards progress and sustainability.

He further charged Officers to sustain the momentum of service, professionalism, and responsiveness in the discharge of their constitutional and organizational responsibilities.

“The challenges before us demand unity, resilience, and discipline. Together, we shall continue to build a stronger, more effective Corps in service to Nigeria.”

On behalf of the National Executive Council, the Director General extends warm Christmas greetings and New Year wishes to all Officers, Cadets, partners, and supporters of the National Cadet Corps Nigeria.

Following a strategic restructuring, the National Cadet Corps (NCC'N) has re-emerged with a renewed vision and an enhanced organizational framework designed to strengthen discipline, leadership development, and national service among young cadets.

As part of this transformation, the Corps is pleased to announce the appointment of Amb. John Ogundimu as the Director General, National Cadet Corps.

Amb. Ogundimu, a seasoned leader and youth development advocate, brings to the role a wealth of experience in organizational policy formulation, strategic leadership, and civic engagement. His track record in capacity-building, mentorship, and institutional development positions him as the right leader to drive the Corps toward its next phase of growth and impact.

His tenure is expected to usher in a period of enhanced training programs, improved operational efficiency, and stronger collaborations with national and international stakeholders. With a deep commitment to fostering patriotism and discipline, the new Director General is poised to expand the Corps' influence in shaping responsible and service-oriented young leaders.

The National Cadet Corps remains steadfast in its mission to instill the values of duty, honor, and service in cadets across the nation. Under the leadership of Amb. John Ogundimu, the Corps looks forward to scaling new heights and reinforcing its position as a premier youth leadership and paramilitary training institution.

I had the distinct honor of paying a courtesy visit to the 4th substantive Vice Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Ondo State — Prof. Temi Emmanuel Ologunorisa. A remarkable leader and visionary, his contributions have greatly elevated the standards of our institution.

Prof. Temi Ologunorisa’s strategic leadership and unwavering commitment to fostering a nurturing environment for both students and staff have been pivotal in driving the university's continued growth. During our visit, my passion for service was reignited as we discussed how to further strengthen the bond between OAUSTECH and the wider community, exploring avenues to enhance academic and leadership development.

This occasion reminded me of the core values that both the National Cadet Corps and OAUSTECH uphold—service, discipline, and leadership. Our discussions centered on how we can harness these principles to build a brighter future, filled with opportunities for students and society at large.

MY FAREWELL MESSAGE TO
NATIONAL CADET CORPS NIGERIA, OAUSTECH

Peace be unto you;
As I ambiently put my thumb on keyboard today, on the cusp of a new chapter in my life, I am overwhelmed with a profound sense of gratitude and reflection. Allow me to share a few words from my heart as I bid farewell to this ineffable institution and the cherished memories we have started.

Firstly, I raise my hands in humble appreciation to God for his divine guidance and blessings. It is through His mercy that we have been granted opportunity to pursue knowledge and personal growth within these hallowed halls of learning. May we continue to seek His counsel and wisdom as we embark on the journey that lies ahead.

As I reflect on my time at the Faculty of Science, Department of Statistics, my heart is equally filled with pride and gratitude for my association National Cadet Corps Nigeria, Oaustech. I cannot help feel immense pride for my time as the pioneer Commander of the National Cadet Corps Nigeria. The experiences and lessons learned in leadership and service have been invaluable, and the many awards and commendations I have received are a testament not only to my dedication but to the shared commitment of everyone within the organization.

To my fellow Cadets, let my journey serve as a reminder that perseverance, discipline, and integrity will always be rewarded. I encourage each of you to continue striving for excellence and to remember that our actions today shape the leaders we become tomorrow. Let the recognition I have received inspire you to pursue your own paths with confidence and resilience.
