In the light of the increasing decay of our moral fabric as a result of dishonest practices, inefficient management of funds with colossal waste of national resources and failure by various governments to the citizens with regard to commitment and transparent , many young people have turned to crime, drugs, and prostitution. Blame should equally be laid on the shoulders of parents, teachers and so
ciety influencers who have failed to provide the necessary training and direction. Indeed the norms of mutual politeness and civility which are the hallmarks of healthy and peaceful progress of a nation is fast diminishing. The founders of hallmarks of labour believe that something had to be done to salvage the image of our country, convinced that there are still in our society, examplary men and women who in spite of all odds, have embraced hard work, honesty and integrity with loftly, enviable achievements to show for it. Hlf will parade these men and women as role models for the younger generations to emulate . Thus hallmarks of labour foundation was set up in 1997 with the following aims and objective. To search for and identify Nigerians, Africans and people of the black race who have achieved success through hard work, honesty and integrity in every field of human endeavour.
2. To use the achievements of these role models as examples to educate Nigerians that success through genuine labour is more rewarding and fulfilling.
3. To develop a positive attitude among Nigerians may Africans especially the youth, and encourage them to discard fraud, dishonesty and greed as a means to success.
4. To help make nigeria a decent society that deserves the respect of other nations of the world, thereby enhancing investment and tourism.
