World Humanitarian Day!

In Nigeria, we know that sometimes, humanitarianism doesn't look like a big international intervention.
Sometimes, it is a neighbour sharing a meal with a family that has nothing to eat.
It is a teacher who stays back to help a child understand a difficult lesson.
It is a young person volunteering their time to support their community.
It is someone paying a child's school fees, helping a struggling family access healthcare, or simply saying, “I see you. You are not alone.”
These everyday acts of kindness may seem small, but for someone going through a difficult season, they can mean everything.
At David Okoirhon Foundation, we believe that building a better Nigeria starts with caring about the people around us and taking action where we can.
As we mark World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate every Nigerian who continues to choose compassion despite the challenges we face.
Because humanity is not only about what we give.
It is about how we make people feel seen, valued, supported and hopeful.

Today, we celebrate 12 incredible years of Morainbow Down Syndrome Foundation!

For 12 years, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children and families—celebrating milestones, supporting their journeys, creating opportunities, and witnessing the many ways children can learn, grow, and thrive when given the right support.

From the first steps to new skills, from classroom discoveries to proud graduation moments, every achievement has been a reminder of why this work matters.

And we couldn’t have made this journey alone.

To our amazing learners and their families, our dedicated staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and every person who has supported Morainbow along the way, thank you.

Your belief in our work has helped us come this far.

As we celebrate 12 years, we celebrate not only where we’ve been, but where we’re going. There is still so much to do, so many possibilities to create, and so many more families to reach.

The school holidays are the perfect time to continue learning, strengthen important developmental skills, and build confidence in a fun, supportive environment.

Our Summer Intensive Therapy classes is designed for children with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, offering three weeks of individualized therapy and engaging activities that support communication, learning, independence, and everyday life skills.

Date: 10th – 27th August

Good manners aren’t just about saying “please” and “thank you.”

They’re the everyday habits that help children become more confident, responsible, and independent.

In today’s activity, our learners are practising an important life skill cleaning up after themselves. While it may seem like a small task, it teaches children to take responsibility, care for their environment, and develop habits they can carry into everyday life.

At Morainbow, we believe that every learning moment has a purpose.

By teaching life skills through fun and engaging activities, we’re helping our learners build confidence that extends beyond the classroom.

At Morainbow Down Syndrome Foundation, we know that every milestone tells a story. Whether it’s trying a new activity, building confidence, learning a new skill, or simply showing up with a smile, every moment of progress deserves to be celebrated.
