Celebrating our Member Spotlight, Mrs Rosecana Ankama, FCArb, MIMC, FIPMA.

A distinguished legal practitioner, academic, arbitrator, and mediator, Rosecana brings extensive experience in dispute resolution, with a career spanning legal education, arbitration, mediation, and professional development. As Chief Lecturer and former HOD legal studies at Kaduna Polytechnic, principal partner at R.G. Ankama & Co, (Cecore Services), and a member of the Governing Council of NICArb, she continues to contribute to legal and institutional development.

Her mediation practice includes serving as a listed mediator for the World Bank Group’s Compliance Advisor Ombudsman and with leading dispute resolution centres in Nigeria and South Africa. Known for her calm, client-centred approach, Rosecana continues to advance meaningful dialogue and effective dispute resolution.

The 2026 Hybrid Membership Training Programme, Batch 5 with 45 participants, and the 2026 Hybrid Associate Training Programme with 26 participants taking part, as they build their knowledge and understanding of arbitration.

On Monday, we welcomed 18 participants to the NICArb-IMI Mediation Skills Training Programme in Lagos, as professionals took another step towards advancing their mediation expertise and professional careers.

The NICArb-IMI Mediation Skills Training Programme is currently underway in Lagos, running from 14–19 September 2026. The intensive, in-person six-day programme is designed to develop practical mediation and conflict-management skills aligned with internationally recognised mediation standards.
