WEEKLY BRIEFING FOR FATHER:
April Week #1: GOD'S GOOD HAND UPON FATHERS
"...and a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king’s forest, so that he will give me timber to construct beams for the gates of the fortress which is by the temple, and for the city wall and for the house which I will occupy.” And the king granted me what I asked, for the good hand of my God was upon me.
NEHEMIAH 2:8 AMP

The scenario in the verse above is reminiscent of the life of every man, every father and Infact every person. A situation where we have goals and targets to meet but all is hinged on us getting permission from someone in higher authority. It could be submitting a proposal for a business deal; getting funding for project or bargaining an acquisition. The list can go on and on regarding the things that we need the permission of someone in higher authority in other to get it done.
Nehemiah was in such a position but this is what happened in his case: The king granted him all he asked because THE GOOD HAND OF HIS GOD WAS UPON HIM.
This made all the difference.
Today I encourage fathers to start each day knowing that the good hand of the Lord is upon them. All through the book of Nehemiah, one theme is evident: Nehemiah was a man given to prayer and seeking the face of God. Besides what Nehemiah was doing pleased God so it was inevitable that he would enjoy the good hand of God.
God will always help a man who does things that please him. Providing for your family pleases Him. Embarking on projects that wil enhance the lives of people pleases him. A selfless heart (as in the case of Nehemiah) pleases Him. Such people will enjoy the good hand of God.
Finally, when the good hand of God is upon a father, by extension, every one in his household benefits from it.
Every father will testify and agree with me that a life of favor is more desirable than a life of labour. The good hand of the Lord makes your life favorable. When obstacles of life come, you will always overcome. Better is the man who lives his life enjoying the good hand of God
PRAYER:
"Lord, let your good hand be upon me as it was with Nehemiah so that I may find favor in all I do to the glory of Your name. Amen."
