Breast cancer awareness should not be limited to October. Because breast cancer happens EVERY DAY.
At CancerAware, we are on a year-round mission to educate and empower every woman about early detection and risk reduction.
Even though is over, our commitment remains strong. Let us make every month a month of awareness and support.
Here are 3 key steps to keep in mind:
(1) REGULAR HEALTH CHECKS
Ladies, don't forget your monthly Breast Self Examinations (at least once a month). If anything seems unusual, consult a doctor immediately.
If you're 40 and above, yearly mammograms are crucial. For women with dense breasts, consider breast ultrasounds and MRIs. If you are below 40, get yearly breast ultrasound scans.
If you have a family history of breast cancer, talk to your doctor about personalized breast screening plans. And everyone, men and women alike must make a habit of getting yearly health check-ups.
(2) HEALTHY LIFESTYLE HABITS:
Incorporate regular physical activity into your routine.
Aim for at least 5 portions of fruits and vegetables a day.
If you smoke, commit to quitting. Be aware that even low alcohol consumption raises your breast cancer risk. So, committ to quitting alcohol too.
Reduce your intake of red meat and eliminate processed meat from your diet.
If you're using hormonal contraceptives, consult your doctor about safer, non-hormonal family planning methods.
Prioritize non-toxic skincare and household products.
Know your family health history and take proactive steps based on the information you gather.
(3) SPREAD THE WORD:
Share the crucial message of early detection with your friends, family and contacts. You might just save a life.
Remember, early detection coupled with timely and appropriate treatment can make a world of difference when it comes to cancer.
Let us make every day an opportunity to raise awareness and support one another.
Have a wonderful and keep the awareness flame alive.

We want to express our gratitude for making our 10th anniversary campaign truly extraordinary.
To our beneficiaries: your courage inspires us and gives hope to others on similar journeys.
To our donors: your generosity has brought hope to families facing their toughest battles.
To our volunteers: your selfless dedication and compassion have been the heart of everything we do.
To our medical partners: your expertise and care continue to save lives every day.
To our sponsors and advocates: you have amplified our voice and expanded our reach beyond what we could achieve alone.
To our incredible team: your passion and hard work have made this milestone possible.
A little over 10 years, ago, we believed no woman should die from a cancer that can be prevented or treated if found early.
Today, because of you, that belief is a reality for so many. This October reminded us that together, we are stronger than cancer.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in this mission. Here's to the next decade of hope, healing and fighting together.

SWIPE >>>>>
A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER
As I reflect on the past decade, the first thing that comes to mind is gratitude.
Gratitude for our beneficiaries, the incredible women who have allowed us to walk beside them through their cancer journey and whose courage continues to inspire us at CancerAware.
You are the heart of this mission. Your courage, resilience and unwavering spirit in the face of life’s toughest battles remind us why we do this work.
Gratitude for the volunteers, partners, donors and team members who have walked this journey with us, every screening, every outreach, every life touched made possible because you cared.
When we started CancerAware a little over ten years ago, it was with a simple but powerful belief, that no woman should die from a cancer that can be prevented or treated if found early.
What began as a small initiative has grown into an international movement for awareness, prevention, early detection and access to care.
In these ten years, we have reached over 20,000 women with our free cancer prevention and early detection services including mammograms, breast ultrasounds and Pap smears, supported 1840 women with free cancer treatment and reached over 20,000,000 globally with our digital media campaigns.
The journey has not always been easy but it has been worth it. Each year has taught us something new about courage, compassion and the power of community. And even as we commemorate how far we have come, we know there is still much to do.
Across the world, progress is being made in the fight against cancer, from groundbreaking research to the promise of new cancer vaccines and therapies. We are moving closer to a future where cancer no longer takes the lives it does today.
Until that day comes and I believe it will, sooner than we think, we will keep showing up, keep educating, keep screening and keep supporting treatment.
From all of us at CancerAware, thank you for being part of our story. Here is to the next decade of hope, of community and of impact.
With gratitude,

Tolulope Falowo
Founder & Executive Director, CancerAware
