A
part from enriching their lives and boosting their qualifications, the Award enrols them in a prestigious global alumni association. Since it was founded by His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh in 1956, over eight million people have participated in the Award in over 140 countries and territories and many millions more have felt the Award’s impact in their communities. The Award is delivered under special license by over 400 partners across the globe (Licensed Organizations). Our partners support nearly 11,000 Award centers including youth clubs, voluntary organizations, schools, colleges, Young Offenders Institutions and businesses to operate Award programs and accredit their young people. The Award program is balanced and develops the whole person – mind, body and soul, in an environment of social interaction and team working. The Award helps to provide a framework to encourage physical activity, mental challenge, individual perseverance, teamwork and interaction with others.
