It was Narrated from Anas bin Malik, (R.t) Said; The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of `Id-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Anas also narrated that; The Prophet (pbuh) used to eat odd number of dates.

Its was Narrated from Ibn Umar (r.a) sais: I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) saying, "When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can't see it) then regard the month of Ramadan as of 30 days.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar used to send the zakat al-fitr to the one with whom it was collected together two or three days before the day of breaking the fast.

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (R.a) that the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) enjoined Zakatul-Fitr as a purification for the fasting person from idle talk and obscenities, and to feed the poor. Whoever pays it before the (Eid) prayer, it is an accepted Zakah, and whoever pays it after the prayer, it is (ordinary) charity.

He said: 'She said: "He used to sleep for the first part of the night and stay up for the latter part.
