Let There Be Teachers

Let There Be Teachers We are committed to designing programs and trainings geared towards teachers professional development How can we help teachers achieve this?

It would be overwhelming for teachers to disregard the call for personal training and education because we live in the times where it is almost possible for students to become their best without, necessarily, the effort of any teacher. It is therefore important that teachers get the expertise that will enable them stay abreast of the emerging challenges in the profession. How can we make teachers

understand that they play an important role in nation building? This is the core of the Teacher Engagement and Leadership initiative; we seek to help teachers understand their roles in the society and the world they live in. We, desire and, are determined to help teachers raise dynamic, intelligent, and creative youths that are emotionally stable and mentally alert to fulfill their dreams and attain greatness.

PRESS STATEMENT

LET THERE BE TEACHERS CONDEMNS CONTINUED ABDUCTION OF CHILDREN, CALLS FOR URGENT GOVERNMENT ACTION

Let There Be Teachers strongly condemns the continued kidnapping and abduction of children across different parts of Nigeria, describing the disturbing trend as a tragic reflection of the worsening insecurity confronting the nation.

The increasing attacks on schools, communities, and innocent children have created fear among families, disrupted education, and endangered the future of thousands of young Nigerians.

It is unacceptable that children who should be learning in safe classrooms and growing in secure communities are instead being exposed to violence, trauma, and captivity.

We call on the Federal Government, security agencies, and relevant authorities to take immediate and decisive steps towards rescuing abducted children, improving intelligence gathering, securing schools, and ensuring that those responsible for these criminal acts face justice.

The safety of children must never be treated as a secondary issue. Every delay in action further weakens public confidence and places more lives at risk.

At Let There Be Teachers, we maintain that protecting children and guaranteeing access to safe education must remain a national priority. No society can build a meaningful future while its children live in fear.

We stand in solidarity with affected families and communities and continue to advocate for a Nigeria where every child can learn, dream, and thrive in safety.

CHILDREN’S DAY: LET THERE BE TEACHERS CALLS FOR PROTECTION, EDUCATION, AND HOPE FOR EVERY CHILD

As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate Children’s Day, Let There Be Teachers celebrates the dreams, creativity, brilliance, and limitless potential of every child.

This special day is a reminder that every child deserves access to quality education, safety, care, opportunities, and an environment where they can grow and thrive without fear.

While we celebrate, we also remember children who are displaced, missing, abducted, or separated from the comfort and protection every child deserves. Our thoughts remain with affected families and communities who continue to hope and pray for the safe return of their children.

At Let There Be Teachers, we believe that education remains one of the strongest tools for shaping a better future and protecting the hopes of younger generations. Every child deserves the chance to learn, dream, and succeed regardless of their background or circumstances.

We therefore call on government institutions, stakeholders, communities, and individuals to continue investing in child protection, education, and youth development across the country.

As an organisation committed to empowering educators and inspiring future generations, we remain dedicated to advocating for policies and initiatives that place children at the centre of national development.

Happy Children’s Day to every child in Nigeria and across the world.

The appointments mark another significant step in the organisation’s mission to promote quality education, teacher development, and community-based educational initiatives nationwide.

LET THERE BE TEACHERS COMMEMORATES WITH THE FAMILY OF MR MICHAEL OYEDOKUN AND NIGERIAN TEACHERS OVER HIS TRAGIC DEATH

A teacher has been killed. A classroom has been silenced. A nation must not look away.

We write today with pain, anger, and deep concern over the tragic killing of Mr Michael Oyedokun, a teacher whose only offence was dedicating his life to educating children and shaping the future of this country.

Mr Oyedokun was not a statistic. He was not a headline. He was a human being: a teacher, a nation builder, and one of the many educators who continue to serve despite the harsh realities confronting the profession. Today, he is gone.

As an organisation that represents and advocates for teachers, Let There Be Teachers stands in solidarity with his family, colleagues, students, and every educator across Nigeria carrying the weight of fear, grief, and exhaustion.

How many more teachers must die before the safety of educators becomes a national priority? How many more classrooms must mourn before we recognise that insecurity is no longer just a security issue, but an education emergency?

Teachers continue to show up every day in communities plagued by violence, neglect, and uncertainty. They teach without adequate protection, without sufficient welfare, and too often, without the dignity they deserve. Yet they remain in classrooms because they believe in Nigeria, because they believe in children, and because they believe the future can still be better.

This is not merely a moment for sympathy. It is a moment for accountability.

We call on government authorities, security agencies, education stakeholders, and all Nigerians to rise beyond condolences and take urgent action to protect the lives of teachers across the country.

To every teacher we have lost to insecurity: we see you, we honour you, and we will remember you.

May the soul of Mr Michael Oyedokun rest in perfect peace.
