It was incorporated in September 2017 as a custodian of the Whanyinna Nursery and Primary School, Makoko Waterfront. Whanyinna Children Foundation is a charity that uses education to combat child labour, illiteracy, malnutrition, crime and health. We work with children and young adults, helping them take responsibility and positive steps forward in their lives. Whanyinna Children Foundation offers
several different programmes, each tailored to its audience and principal aims. The consistent factor is our elementary school - Whanyinna School Makoko. The school is a tuition-free elementary school that provides educational opportunities and creates a safe learning space for the children of the slum. Besides, the foundation provides support to the families of disadvantaged children, engage in community service, social activities, capacity building, and promote volunteerism. We celebrate the humanity of every child we are privileged to support. Our work started 11 years ago (before registration), in which we have recorded remarkable success graduating over 260 children while supporting more than 500 families of disadvantaged children in our community.
