For Amina, education is a force for stability, hope, and opportunity.

She lives in Maiduguri, Borno State, a community shaped by years of conflict and displacement. Like thousands of children in northeast Nigeria, she arrived at Orphan Academy having lost more than most adults will ever face.

But every morning, she comes to school.

She sits at her desk. She eats a warm meal. She learns.

At Feed for Life Foundation, we believe that in the middle of a crisis, education is not a luxury. It is the one thing that tells a child, your future still exists.

835 children like Amina are counting on us to keep that promise.

Orphan Academy serves 835 orphaned and conflict-displaced children. Feed for Life Foundation funds their daily meals but we need champions in our corner.

“Happy End of Term!” 🎉🌙

When we asked our children at Orphan Academy what they’re looking forward to this holiday, their answers were pure.

Sallah celebrations with family.

Rest. Joy. Home.

But one little girl stopped us.

“I will miss the food Feed for Life gives us every day.”
Let that land.

For many of our 835 orphaned and conflict-displaced children in Maiduguri, the daily meal provided by Feed for Life Foundation isn’t just lunch, it is the most consistent act of care in their day.

This term they learned. They created. They were fed. And today, they signed off with the biggest smiles and one united message:

“Happy End of Term!” 🎉

She didn’t just make a fan. She made something with her hands that belongs entirely to her.

For children who arrived at Orphan Academy having lost homes, family, and stability, moments like this matter more than we can measure. An art and craft session.

Colourful raffia. A skill passed down through generations. And a smile that says: I did this.

At Feed for Life Foundation, we believe education in emergencies must go beyond literacy. It must restore dignity, joy, and a sense of self.

Every bomb in Maiduguri creates the next generation of orphans.

We know. We teach them.

On Monday night, three bombs tore through our city.

Post Office Market. Monday Market. The entrance of a teaching hospital.

During iftar. When families were together.

At least 23 lives lost. Over 100 injured.

Our children are safe. Our school is standing.
But we know what comes next.

In the weeks and months after attacks like this, more children lose parents. More children lose homes. More children show up at gates like ours - hungry, displaced, and hoping someone will let them in.

This has been happening in Borno State since 2009.
835 children sit in our classrooms today because of attacks like Monday night’s.

The world moves on from Maiduguri. We don’t get to.
