SUCCESS STORY: Community Action Brings Lifesaving Equipment to Ibafon PHC.
As part of the GF/NACA/ATM/C19RM/RSSH Project, RHODA’S HAVEN continues to lead Community-Led Monitoring (CLM)—identifying service gaps through Focus Group Discussions, Client Exit Interviews, and Key Informant Interviews, and then resolving them through community-driven advocacy.
In October 2025, during stakeholder engagements in Ibafon Ward, Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, several challenges were raised, including inadequate medical equipment, lack of power supply, water, and damaged infrastructure at Ibafon PHC.
In swift response, RHODA’S HAVEN CLMT reached out to philanthropist Mr. Akpabi Christopher, who generously donated:

Adult Weighing Scale
Stethoscope
Infrared Thermometer
Hand Gloves
3.5L Hypo
This support has significantly improved the facility’s ability to deliver quality care, especially for HIV, TB, and Malaria. It has also lifted staff morale, boosted patient trust, and strengthened community confidence in the health system.
This milestone aligns with the Global Fund’s mission to make health services available, accessible, and affordable to all.
RHODA’S HAVEN extends heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Akpabi Christopher for his selfless contribution.

In line with the Global Fund-supported RSSH Round 7 project’s goal of making healthcare accessible, available, and affordable for all, Rhoda’s Haven Network for Women Living with HIV/AIDS continues to drive community-led solutions at the grassroots.

Through strong community engagement and advocacy, a critical health milestone was achieved at Ojora Olugbode PHC, Badia, Apapa LGA, where a shortage of essential medical consumables was impacting ATM (HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria) service delivery.

Thanks to collective community efforts, the facility received much-needed items including:
✔ 4 packs of adult diapers
✔ 1 pack of baby wipes
✔ 12 hand gloves
✔ 3 packs of Nightingale underlays

This achievement reinforces the power of community advocacy in strengthening health systems and improving service delivery for underserved populations.

Commemorating World TB Day, RHODA'S HAVEN partnered with Damien Foundation (DFB) Nigeria to conduct a comprehensive outreach program at Orile Market, Apapa/Iganmu LGA, Lagos. The event included awareness-raisin g activities and free TB screening, as well as blood pressure and blood sugar checks for community members.

Rhoda's Haven Network, an NGO and community-based organization supporting women living with HIV, conducted a sensitization outreach at Akere Primary Health Centre (PHC) to promote the uptake of Tuberculosis Preventive Therapy (TPT). This event marked the conclusion of the IMPAACT4TB project, supported by Journalists Against AIDS, and commemorated World TB Day 2025 where 150 TB Community members were reached. www.rhodashaven.org.ng
