HOW SHOULD WE TREAT AN AUTISTIC CHILD?

Imagine that you are in a room where the lights are too bright, the noise is unbearable, and nobody understands what you are trying to say.

How would you want people to treat you?
That is a good place to begin!
✅ Be kind.
✅ Be patient.
✅ Include them in games and activities.
✅ Don't laugh at them or bully them.
✅ Respect their communication.
✅ Don't force them to make eye contact.
✅ Ask what support they need instead of assuming.
✅ Get help from appropriate professionals when necessary.

Remember they are still humans with dignity. Respect them! Love them! Support them! Include them!!!

🦸‍♀️ DO AUTISTIC CHILDREN HAVE SUPERPOWERS?
Some autistic people have exceptional abilities in areas such as music, mathematics, art, memory, or recognising patterns.

Others may have ordinary abilities and face significant everyday challenges.
An autistic person does not have to be a genius to be valuable. Their humanity alone is enough. ❤️

A girl is not just a child to be protected; she is a voice to be heard, a dream to be nurtured, and a leader waiting to emerge.

Every girl deserves education, safety, dignity, equal opportunities, and the freedom to dream without fear. Let us protect her from violence, child marriage, abuse, discrimination, and every barrier that threatens her future.

When we educate a girl, protect her rights, and empower her choices, we invest in a stronger, fairer world.

Let every girl live, learn, speak, lead, and thrive! 💜

Every girl matters. Every right counts. Every dream deserves a chance.

DAY 10

🧠 IS AUTISM A DISEASE?

NO! Autism is not an infectious disease.
You cannot catch autism by hugging, touching, playing with, or sitting beside an autistic person.

Autism is also not the result of bad parenting, and it is not something a child chooses.

Autistic people have different strengths, challenges, personalities, feelings, and dreams.

Some need considerable daily support, while others need less support. Every person deserves respect and appropriate support.

Understand to effectively support and respect their rights.

🧩 SO, WHAT IS AUTISM?
Autism, also called Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts with others, experiences the world, and behaves.

An autistic person might:
👂 Hear differently: Sounds that seem normal to you may feel painfully loud to them.

👀 See details differently: They may notice tiny things others don't notice.

🗣️ Communicate differently: Some speak fluently, some speak a little, and others communicate through gestures, pictures, or communication devices.

🤝 Socialise differently: They may prefer playing alone, need help making friends, or enjoy friendships in their own unique way.

🔄 Love routines: Unexpected changes may make them feel worried or overwhelmed.

❤️ Show their feelings differently: They may flap their hands, rock their bodies, jump, or make sounds to express excitement, cope with overwhelming feelings, or regulate themselves.
Remember: Every autistic person is different. Not every autistic person experiences all these things.

Know the signs not to label but to appreciate and accommodate differences.
