The Lekan Bakare Foundation participated in the Recyclers Association of Nigeria (RAN) Conference (), a two-day gathering centered on this year’s theme: “Smart Recycling Frontiers: Integrating Technology, Innovation and Intelligence for a Greener Planet.”

The conference reinforced the importance of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable systems in addressing environmental challenges and advancing a circular economy in Nigeria. Discussions around smart recycling technologies, sustainable waste management, and climate action highlighted the need for collective responsibility and long-term environmental solutions.

At the Lekan Bakare Foundation, we remain committed to advancing environmental sustainability through advocacy, education, and community-focused initiatives that drive meaningful and lasting impact.

The Creativity Hub came alive through our animal face mask workshop, where simple materials turned into bold, expressive pieces 🐾✨

From crafting monkeys, a lion, a parrot, and more to sharing facts and creating content, it was a space for hands-on learning, collaboration, and pure imagination.

As we wrap up our World Creativity and Innovation Day series, this is a reminder that creativity can spark confidence, storytelling, and real impact.

05/05/2026

Each mask became a voice 🎭

Participants represented their animals and imagined what they would say to humans, sharing powerful messages about protecting the planet and supporting conservation efforts.

A simple creative activity turned into a moment of reflection, reminding us of our responsibility to the world around us.

We recently marked World Creativity and Innovation Day with an animal face mask making workshop, turning simple materials into bold, expressive creations.

It was a space for imagination, hands-on learning, and collaboration where creativity came alive in a playful and impactful way.

Moments like this remind us that innovation can start from something as simple as art, giving people the freedom to express, explore, and build confidence while developing new skills.

This is one of several highlights from the day as we continue to share how creativity is driving meaningful impact in our communities.

Stay tuned!🎨

ENTRY 07: EARTH IN ACTION SERIES

As this year’s Mother Earth Day campaign comes to a close, we are reminded that awareness is only the beginning. What truly matters is what we choose to do next.

Our planet continues to call for care, responsibility, and urgency. The power to protect it has always been in our hands, in our choices, and in our willingness to act, both individually and collectively.

This may be the final entry, but it is not the end of the work. The responsibility continues beyond today.

ENTRY 07: EARTH IN ACTION SERIES

As we wrap up our poem entries for the Earth in Action Campaign, today we highlight a powerful bilingual piece titled “Agbára Wa, Ayé Wa” (Our Power, Our Planet) by our volunteer, Lawal Azeez Olatunji ()

Through Yoruba and English, this piece reminds us that while we shape the world around us, we also hold the power to protect and restore it.

What does this piece say to you about our role in protecting the planet?

ENTRY 05: EARTH IN ACTION SERIES

Today, we highlight a powerful reflection from Joshua Eniyoke Amuofu, LBF State Coordinator, Delta State, calling us to take responsibility for how we treat our planet.

His message reminds us that the Earth continues to give to us, and real change begins when we choose to act with more care; wasting less, being mindful, and making intentional choices in our daily lives.

Take a moment to read and reflect: What does “doing better” for the Earth look like in your daily life?

Join the campaign. Share your voice, your creativity, and your commitment to protecting our planet.
