The Women Reform Organization (WRO) is excited to announce that registration is now OPEN for the Skills-to-Enterprise Initiative, a practical enterprise-focused training programme designed to help women and young people move beyond simply acquiring skills and begin building towards sustainable economic opportunities.

Through our Skills-to-Enterprise model:

LEARN → PRODUCE/SERVE → MARKET ACCESS → BUILD ASSETS → EARN → SCALE

Nigeria cannot truly achieve inclusive development if women remain underrepresented in leadership and decision-making spaces.

Women make up a significant part of our population, contribute immensely to the economy, build families, lead businesses, drive innovation, and strengthen communities m, yet their representation in governance and lawmaking remains disproportionately low.

The conversation is no longer about whether women are capable.
The real question is:
Are we intentionally creating room for women to participate, lead, and influence national decisions?

At the Women Reform Organization (WRO), we believe that nation-building requires the voices, ideas, experiences, and leadership of women across every level of society, regardless of social status, background, religion, tribe, education, or economic class.

At Women Reform Organization (WRO), we believe women’s empowerment must be practical, sustainable, and economically transformative. That is why we continue to prioritize skill acquisition initiatives that equip women with relevant tools for today’s economy.

Recently, WRO hosted a Digital Marketing Training Session focused on helping women develop valuable digital skills that can improve employability, support entrepreneurship, strengthen business visibility, and create sustainable income opportunities in an increasingly digital world.

What stood out most during the training was the determination and commitment shown by the participants. Particularly inspiring was the presence of a young mother who attended the session with her baby, a powerful reflection of the resilience, sacrifice, and dedication many women embody in their pursuit of growth and economic advancement. At WRO, we see this as strength, not limitation.

Experiences like this have further strengthened our resolve and inspired the development of the WRO 24-Month Skills, Enterprise & Sustainability Program, a long-term initiative designed to help women:

• Learn high-impact and market-relevant skills
• Produce and build sustainable enterprises
• Access markets and economic opportunities
• Earn independently
• Scale their businesses and long-term economic capacity

Our goal is simple: to move women beyond temporary empowerment conversations into structured economic participation and sustainable wealth creation.

As we prepare to pilot this 24-month program, WRO is open to strategic partnerships, collaborations, sponsorships, and institutional support from organizations and stakeholders committed to women’s economic empowerment and community development.

Nigeria’s current economic realities are placing enormous pressure on women-led businesses and informal female enterprises across the country.

From rising inflation and unstable operating costs to reduced purchasing power and limited access to finance, many women entrepreneurs are struggling not because they lack potential, but because the systems around them are becoming increasingly difficult to survive in.

For many women, especially small business owners, the challenge is no longer just starting a business. The challenge is sustainability.

At Women Reform Organization (WRO), we believe this moment requires urgent and intentional action.

We must move beyond temporary empowerment conversations and begin building real economic support systems for women through:

• Access to affordable financing
• Enterprise development and mentorship
• Market access opportunities
• Production support systems

There is a painful reality many female entrepreneurs in Nigeria are forced to face, but few people are talking about it.

A woman builds an idea.
She puts in the work.
She seeks funding, partnerships, opportunities…

But instead of support, she is met with conditions.
Unspoken demands.
Exploitation disguised as “help.”

In some cases, she is not asked about her business plan,
She is asked for her body.

How do we expect her to thrive in a system that frustrates her dignity?

This is not just unfair, it is a direct attack on the future of women led businesses in Nigeria.

At Women Reform Organization (WRO), we believe it is time to move beyond surface level empowerment and start having serious conversations about startup sustainability, safety, and access for women.

Women are not asking for favors.
They are asking for fair systems, safe opportunities, and the right to grow without compromise.

For years, women empowerment has often stopped at training.
We teach skills, take pictures, hand out certificates… and move on.

But here is the hard truth:
Training without income is not empowerment.

At Women Reform Organization (WRO), we believe it is time to shift from empowerment for the moment to empowerment for sustainability.

A woman does not need just a skill — she needs a system that helps her earn, grow, and sustain herself.

That means:
• Moving from training to production
• From learning to market access
• From empowerment to income generation

When a woman begins to earn consistently, everything changes — her confidence, her family’s wellbeing, her children’s future, and her community’s stability.

This is why our approach focuses on a complete value chain:
Learn → Produce → Sell → Earn → Grow

Because true empowerment is not measured by how many women we train…
but by how many women can stand independently, build businesses, and create opportunities for others.

The question is:
