EXPANDING ACCESS TO NEUROPATHY SCREENING: A CALL FOR STRATEGIC PARTNERS

🩺Neuropathy is a widespread but underdiagnosed condition. While commonly associated with diabetes, nerve damage can be triggered by various other underlying medical factors-making comprehensive screening essential.

Amorvard Foundation is actively bridging this healthcare gap. Our screening initiatives catch nerve damage early to prevent long-term disability.

To scale our proven screening framework and reach more communities across Lagos, we are inviting corporate and healthcare partners to collaborate with us.

NAVIGATING BOTH WORLDS: UNDERSTANDING THE LINK BETWEEN CANCER AND DIABETES

Did you know that diabetes and cancer share many of the same risk factors?

Research shows that people living with diabetes may face an increased risk for several types of cancer. If you are already managing your blood sugar, facing a cancer diagnosis can feel completely overwhelming.

Here is why they are connected and how you can take control of your wellness -

Shared Risk Factors: Obesity, chronic inflammation, and an inactive lifestyle drive both conditions.

The Insulin Connection: High levels of insulin (hyperinsulinemia) can sometimes promote tumor growth.

Blood Sugar & Outcomes: Managing your glucose levels can improve cancer treatment tolerance and long-term health outcomes.

🎗️ You Do Not Have To Walk This Path Alone -
At Amorvard Foundation, we believe in holistic care that goes beyond medication. Managing overlapping health conditions requires a strong community, specialized health education and open conversations about treatment side effects.

Did you know that silent nerve damage affects about half of all individuals living with diabetes?

When we talk about diabetes, the focus is usually on blood sugar. But the real, often invisible damage happens beneath the surface: Diabetic Neuropathy. Over time, prolonged high glucose levels can damage the tiny blood vessels that feed our nerves, leading to pain, tingling, numbness and even severe loss of sensation in limbs.

Because diabetic peripheral neuropathy is the leading cause of non-traumatic foot amputations, early awareness and proactive management are life-saving.

WHAT ARE THE EARLY SIGNS?
⚡ The "pins and needles" feeling.
🔥 Burning or shooting pains (especially at night).
👣 Numbness or inability to feel heat, cold, or pain in your feet.

HOW WE ARE TAKING ACTION AT AMORVARD: At the Amorvard Development Foundation, we believe that managing chronic diseases requires more than just medication - it requires a complete continuum of care.

Through The Amorvard BLUE Stars Wellness Network, we provide:

🎗 Patient Navigation & Advocacy: Guiding patients through complex healthcare journeys and coordinating specialist care.
🍎 Nutrition & Lifestyle Support: Offering tailored health education and dietary resources to maintain glycemic control.
👥 Community & Emotional Spaces: Creating safe networks for chronic disease patients to share experiences and combat isolation.
🏥 Hospital Partnerships: Streamlining access to care alongside top institutions like the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where our coordination desk is based.

🤝As global research advances into nerve regeneration and complex care management, Amorvard is positioned as an ideal community-level partner.

We invite pharmaceutical brands, clinical research organizations and metabolic health advocates to collaborate with us.

Together, we can scale patient adherence programs, improve healthcare equity and run high-impact screening initiatives.

Let’s change the narrative around diabetes in Nigeria.

Many people think of healthcare as hospitals, medicines, and doctors.

But in many underserved communities, one of the most powerful health interventions is access to clean and safe water.

Without safe water, families face increased risks of infections, financial hardship, missed school days, reduced productivity, and avoidable health complications.

At Amorvard Foundation, we believe that improving health outcomes requires addressing both medical and social determinants of health.

That is why our recent intervention in Aduloju Community combined health screening, health education, and water support.
Healthcare begins long before a patient enters a clinic.
