PRAY FOR THE SOUL OF REV. FR. CLEMENT IROKA

Rev. Fr. Clement Iroka was a priest of Orly Diocese inspired people, built bridges, preached with conviction, smiled generously, and dedicated himself to forming young lives, especially through the great citadel of learning, St. Dominic Savio.

He had spent his years teaching others punctuality, discipline, excellence and service, investing his energy in people who would continue his legacy long after he was gone.
Those who encountered him remembered his words, his laughter, his encouragement and the lives he touched, but his lifeless body seemed to whisper the greatest lesson of all: life is temporary, but the impact we leave behind can outlive us.
May the soul of Rev. Fr. Clement Iroka, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

What will people remember about you when you are gone?

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS STORY?

A PRIEST’S MOST PAINFUL DISCOVERY: Sometimes the people we praise in church are not the people we truly know at home. I once admired an elderly couple who arrived at Mass before everyone else, cleaned the church, served faithfully, and became my perfect example of Christian commitment—until I visited a critically ill elderly woman whose house was filled with goats and whose bedroom revealed shocking neglect. I prayed with her, heard her confession, gave her Holy Communion and the Anointing of the Sick, only to receive news less than two hours later that she had died, and I initially thanked God that her suffering was finally over. Then came the painful revelation: the elderly woman was the mother of the very man I had been publicly praising as a model Catholic! That day taught me a painful lesson: church attendance, early Mass, service, generosity and public religious activity mean very little if we neglect the people God has placed in our own homes. So let me ask you bluntly: Can someone be a “good Christian” in church while being a terrible human being at home—and should we stop judging holiness by what people do publicly?

PRAYER IS GOOD. But prayer is a relationship with God, not a substitute for addressing the existential issues we have the responsibility to solve.

If we genuinely pray, we would have been hearing the voice of God telling us to stop disturbing him over what we have to fix ourselves.

STORY TIME: READ AND GET SENSE

Of course, I already know the arguments will come—and honestly, I’m not losing sleep over them. 😂 Disagree with me if you want, but at least pause and think before you surrender your conscience to religious manipulation simply because someone you call “Man of God” said it. Sadly, some religious leaders have created a mentality where their followers question everyone except themselves—and one of the consequences is that some Catholics have even become emboldened to speak to Catholic priests with disrespect and contempt.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU, but remember "agbacha ọsọ, a gụọ mile".
