Tribute to Octavia
Who passed :May 25th,2026
Time of death :11:05am
Octavia, my beloved Boerboel, was more than a pet — she was family, my protector, my peace, and a mother.
I got Octavia in February 2021 as a baby when I newly built this house, and I nurtured her here from the beginning. I fed her milk when she was very small and cared for her as she grew. She grew up in my care, and in many ways, she grew with this home. For about 5 years and 3 months, she lived with us, becoming part of everything this house represents.
She was strong, calm, kind, and fearless. A true warrior in every sense. She protected our home with courage, even facing danger like snakes without fear. When she barked, her presence alone made the home feel secure, and I slept peacefully knowing she was there watching over us. She was my sense of safety, and her presence gave me peace.
Octavia was also a mother. She gave birth to 9 puppies, and 2 survived, who now live with people I know. Even in motherhood, she gave life and continued her legacy beyond our home.
I had other dogs before, but I made the decision to keep only Octavia because I loved her so deeply. She was enough for me. I didn’t want more dogs — my love and bond were fully with her.
To me, Octavia saw me as her mother, and I saw her as my child in return. Our bond was built over years of care, trust, and daily life together. She stayed close to me, trusted me completely, and found peace in my presence. When I was not okay, coming home to her gave me relief and comfort. In return, she gave me loyalty, protection, and a love that filled our home in a quiet but powerful way.
She was deeply attached to my three children as well. Even when they traveled and returned after some time, she still recognized them instantly. She remembered them, welcomed them, and remained bonded to them as part of her family.
To my children, she was a companion and part of their daily life. She was loved, cared for, and deeply connected to our family.
Octavia was not just a dog — she was a protector, a friend, a mother, and a true member of our family. Her presence secured our home, gave us peace, and filled our lives with love and safety. Her absence has left a silence in our home, but her memory remains alive in our hearts.
We will remember her as she truly was: calm, loyal, strong, kind, deeply protective, and deeply loved.
Rest well, Octavia. Our warrior. Our protector. Our family.
If she can hear me wherever she is now, know that I love you so much.
