Your report can help us better understand the experiences of intersex persons, strengthen documentation, and support advocacy for greater protection and access to justice.

Intersex Nigeria is strengthening institutional partnerships to advance the rights and protection of intersex persons in Nigeria.

Following an advocacy engagement with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Commission expressed its commitment to collaborate with the Joint Intersex Health Advocacy Committee, comprising the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and Intersex Nigeria.

The engagement explored opportunities for joint action on human rights awareness, documentation, capacity strengthening, advocacy, and access to justice.

This collaboration is an important step towards stronger systems, greater accountability, and meaningful inclusion of intersex persons.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we are calling for more than conversations. We are calling for change.

Intersex persons can face stigma, discrimination, rejection, and isolation, especially when they lack access to accurate information, supportive spaces, and people who understand their experiences. These realities can take a serious toll on wellbeing.

As intersex advocates, we must challenge harmful narratives, create safe spaces to speak openly, and ensure that intersex people can access the support and care they deserve.

Start the conversation. Listen without judgment. Challenge stigma. Create safer spaces.
