From request… to real impact 💙🦷✨ Earlier Today, we had the privilege of visiting the School of Registered Nursing, Eastern Technical University (Nixon Location) here in Segbwema 🇸🇱

What started as a simple visit quickly turned into a powerful, hands-on learning experience. We began with a verbal baseline assessment, then moved into a comprehensive oral health training—breaking things down in a way that truly connected.

From live demonstrations of proper toothbrushing and flossing using a tooth model 🪥 to engaging discussions and questions, the room was filled with curiosity and eagerness to learn. And yes… we wrapped it up with an endline assessment to measure the impact of the session ✨

Each of the 28 participants received oral health kits, ensuring they don’t just learn—but practice what they’ve learned 🎒

But it didn’t end there…

During the session, many shared real oral health concerns, and we stayed back to screen them—students and lecturers alike. In total, over 30 individuals were attended to, turning knowledge into immediate care 💫

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do—education, access, and real impact, all in one space 💙

Update: Building connections that make impact stronger 💙🦷✨ Today, we had a meaningful meeting with missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—serving from South Africa and the United States here in Sierra Leone 🇿🇦🇺🇸🇸🇱

It was a moment of shared purpose as they appreciated the work we’ve come to do in Segbwema, and we also got to hear about their visit and mission on ground. In return, we shared our vision, our plans, and the impact we’re here to create through this outreach.

Today, Segbwema saw our presence come alive 🇸🇱

We moved around the community, putting up our banners and officially marking the beginning of the outreach 🙌🏽🔥

Some of these banners carry key details about the outreach—what’s happening, where, and how people can benefit—while others share simple but powerful oral health tips for everyday living 🪥✨

It’s not just visibility… it’s information, it’s awareness, it’s impact.

And then came a moment that truly stayed with us… 🥹 (Slide 5)

On the walls of the hospital, we found banners from our previous outreach still standing from 2024. Two years later, they were still there—still speaking, still reminding, still making impact.

It was a beautiful reminder that what we do doesn’t end when we leave. It continues. It stays. It matters.

Now, as the old banners meet the new ones, it tells one powerful story — a mission that endures, a community that remembers, and impact that keeps growing 💙✨

Segbwema, we’re here again… and this time, we’re going even further 🚀

Day 3 Update — And the conversations are getting louder! 📻🦷✨

So guys, we took the message straight to the airwaves in Segbwema 🇸🇱💙

During our radio session, we spoke about the importance of oral health, shared details about the ongoing outreach, and most importantly… we connected directly with the people! 🙌🏽

Callers tuned in, asked questions, shared concerns, and we were right there to provide answers, guidance, and clarity on how they can benefit from the outreach. It was real, it was interactive, and it was impactful!

We also opened up about our plans, giving the community a clear picture of what’s coming and how they can be part of it. The excitement? You can feel it already 🔥

Segbwema is listening. Segbwema is ready. And we are here for it 💙🦷

After a 5-hour journey from Freetown to Segbwema… we arrived not just with bags, but with purpose—and what a powerful Day 2 it has been! 🇸🇱🦷✨

Day 2 was all about alignment and impact. We held a comprehensive meeting with the team on ground, carefully mapping out program activities and ensuring everything is set for a smooth, meaningful outreach.

Excitingly, we finalized plans for a vibrant cultural presentation and dance—set to light up both Independence Day and the Community Fair! 💃🏽🎉 And guess what? There’s more… conversations are underway for a novelty football match ⚽—because yes, we’re bringing health and vibes!

The reception here in Segbwema has been incredibly warm. The team has shown so much readiness, openness, and heart—it’s clear they are just as excited as we are to make this impactful.

We also had the honor of connecting with key leaders and stakeholders, taking memorable photos with Reverend Jeremy E.T. Saffa, Press Attaché Abdul Kpanabom, Dr. Misssa (Medical Superintendent of the District Ministry of Health), alongside other medical staff of the Nixon Memorial Hospital and warm, welcoming members of the community 🙏🏽

And of course… we wrapped it all up with a delightful tasting session (because energy must be restored 😄🍽️)

Day 2 done… and everything is aligning beautifully. Segbwema, we’re ready! 🚀💙
