, as we celebrate World NGO Day, we join the global community in recognizing the incredible work of non-governmental organizations in building a more compassionate, just, and sustainable world.

NGO Day, officially observed every 27th of February, is recognized by bodies such as the United Nations and celebrated across continents to honor NGOs and the people behind them who dedicate their lives to service. It is a day to appreciate the silent heroes — the advocates, volunteers, partners, and donors — who work tirelessly to uplift humanity.

Distinguished partners, friends, and fellow change-makers,

-Governmental Organizations, popularly known as NGOs, serve as the bridge between the government and the grassroots. They identify needs where they are most urgent, respond swiftly to crises, advocate for human rights, promote education, empower women and youth, protect the environment, and bring hope to the most vulnerable in our communities.

In a world where inequality, poverty, injustice, and conflict still exist, NGOs stand as pillars of light. They are often the first to respond in times of disaster and the last to leave when rebuilding begins. They amplify the voices of the unheard and restore dignity to those society may have forgotten.

Here in Nigeria and across Africa, NGOs continue to play a critical role in nation-building. From supporting orphaned children to championing girl-child education, from promoting peace advocacy to advancing sustainable development goals, their impact is undeniable.

Today, I am proud to speak not only in celebration of NGOs worldwide but also in recognition of the commitment of the Olukayode Ariike Foundation in supporting NGO efforts and humanitarian causes.

stands as a beacon of hope, compassion, and service. Built on the principles of humanity, advocacy, and empowerment, the foundation actively collaborates with NGOs to strengthen their capacity and extend their reach. We believe that partnership is power. When foundations and NGOs unite, impact multiplies.

Our foundation supports NGOs through:

• Advocacy for child rights and protection
• Promotion of peace and social harmony
• Support for women empowerment initiatives
• Community development projects
• Educational support programs
• Human rights awareness campaigns

understand that no single organization can solve societal challenges alone. It takes unity, collaboration, and shared vision. That is why the Olukayode Ariike Foundation continues to work hand in hand with NGOs, community leaders, and development partners to build a better society.

an advocate for peace, child rights, and community development, I firmly believe that supporting NGOs is not just charity — it is responsibility. It is an investment in humanity. It is a commitment to the future.

this World NGO Day, I call on governments, private organizations, philanthropists, and individuals to continue supporting NGOs. Support them with resources. Support them with partnerships. Support them with policies that enable their work to thrive. Support them with trust.

us remember: every child educated, every woman empowered, every community transformed, and every life saved is a testament to the power of NGOs.

, we celebrate resilience.
We celebrate compassion.
We celebrate service.
We celebrate impact.

And most importantly, we celebrate the spirit of humanity that binds us all together.

behalf of the Olukayode Ariike Foundation, I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to supporting NGOs and strengthening collaborations that create lasting change.

Happy World NGO Day to every organization making a difference.
Your work matters.
Your sacrifice is seen.
Your impact is global.

, let us continue to serve, advocate, empower, and transform lives.

Empowers Primary School Pupils with Vocational Skills Workshop

Olukayode Ariike Foundation, in partnership with the Rotary club of ikeja township, has organised a hands-on vocational workshop for primary school pupils at Community Primary School 3, Bioyin Street, Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos.

The workshop, held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, focused on practical skill acquisition, with pupils taught how to produce disinfectants, liquid dish soap and air fresheners.

The initiative was designed to introduce young learners to basic vocational skills while nurturing creativity and early entrepreneurial thinking.

Organised under the guidance of Rotarian Ambassador Ariyike Elegbede, Charter President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja Township, the programme aimed to equip pupils with practical knowledge that promotes self-reliance and problem-solving from an early age.

Participants received step-by-step demonstrations and took part in supervised hands-on sessions, producing their own items during the workshop.

Speaking at the event, Rtn. Elegbede stressed the importance of exposing children to vocational education alongside formal learning, noting that practical skills help spark innovation and lay the foundation for future economic independence.

He also highlighted the value of community partnerships in broadening access to learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Teachers and guardians who attended the programme commended its interactive approach and immediate practical relevance, describing it as both engaging and impactful for the pupils.

Many noted that the hands-on format helped sustain the children’s interest while reinforcing learning through direct participation.

At the end of the session, pupils left with newly acquired skills, the products they created and a visible sense of achievement, underscoring the success of the initiative.

The workshop forms part of Rotary International’s Vocational Service Month activities, observed every January, and reflects the Rotary Club of Ikeja Township’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment, vocational education and the promotion of creativity and self-sufficiency among young learners in Lagos.

As Nigeria clocks 65 today, let’s take out time to reflect deeply on our society, as our contribution and service to humanity will go a long way in impacting our communities.
Let this month reflect the gospel of humanity and support to those who are less privileged as we celebrate.

Happy 65th Independence Anniversary To My Country, Nigeria 🇳🇬

I am proud to be a Nigerian because this land has given me endless opportunities to dream, to grow, and to make impact. Nigeria is not just my country, she is the platform that has shaped my journey, challenged me to rise, and blessed me with the courage to keep moving forward.

At 65, my wish is for my country to be a greater Nigeria where every citizen finds the same chance to thrive, where unity brings strength, and where our green-white-green continues to fly as a symbol of hope and pride.

👏Arise oh lord _ distroy and uproot every satanic head ruling Nigeria and work in the favour of the land .
👏Visit them with calamity from house to office, from market to streets, from church to mosques, from palaces to shrines ijn .

Grant Nigeria peace oh lord
God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬
Happy independence
