*OKO OBA road, shame of poor representation for AGEGE, ORILE-AGEGE*
Oko Oba road is, unarguably the longest access road in the heart of Orile-Agege community. It is a long stretch connecting two major roads of Ipaja road and the old Abeokuta motor road, also straddling a number of densely populated and highly bustling commercial areas on both sides of the Oko Oba community. But this highly strategic road is, at the moment, in a most deplorable state.
Anyone who cares to know the damage, loss of lives and revenue the poor state of this road has caused the people of Agege and other regular users, need just to ply the road atleast two or three times in one week.
It is sure that you will regret ever plying that road and ask if there are Government representatives in Agege at all. Like every state and federal constituencies in the state, there are obviously elected representatives but situation of that road is a big shame to all Agege serving politicians in the local and state levels.
Oko-Oba right from Olabua Family Compound to Idi-Aparun bus stop is one of the most busy, if not the busiest in Agege and Orile-Agege. It's a popular and major link road that connects other roads, streets and communities to the Old Agege-Abeokuta Motor road, by Idi-Oparun bus stop, it is also an economic connection of Abattoir market for the people of Orile Agege and Agege.
It is a road that has the potential of boosting the economic and business activities of different investors along its corridor, but the shameful state of this road has forced many, both residents and investors out of Agege and Orile-Agege, while others are struggling day and night to survive the pains they encounter everyday as a result of its deplorable look.
I think the people don't deserve this treatment from their elected politicians. The people have been taken for granted for too long by these non-performing politicians representing Agege and Orile-Agege at both the Lagos State House of Assembly and Federal House of representatives, Abuja.
The shameful disregard of this road clearly shows that Agege and Orile-Agege only have district heads, who solely bother about enriching their already fat pockets while subjecting the poor drivers and other road users to an undeserving hardship everyday and night. I cover my face in shame anytime I drive along this road knowing full well it has been in this horrible state for years and nothing has been done about it till date.
This is a clarion call to self acclaimed Leaders and representatives of Agege; to wake up from their slumber.
To help AGEGE LG & Orile-Agege LCDA and the Awori community affected by the deplorable OKO OBA ROAD .
