IESF RECOGNIZES ACDS AS LEGITIMATE BODY FOR ESPORTS IN AFRICA AND ITS PRESIDENT ELEVATED TO THE BOARD OF IESF.
The International Esports Federation (IESF) has officially elected the newly formed African Confederation of Digital Sports (ACDS) with 41 member-countries headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco, as the legitimate esports body in Africa at the Unconference event held in Iasi in Romania on 27th August, 2023 during the World Esports Championship.
The ACDS members include the following countries: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Chad, Djibouti, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, SΓ£o TomΓ© and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda.
Mr Hicham El Khlifi, the current president of ACDS, was also elevated to the board of IESF as IESF Vice President, Africa. This is an endorsement of the tremendous work done by ACDS with him at the helm of affairs.
The two major recognitions will massively boost the work of ACDS and its member-countries in the esports industry in Africa. It will also endear ACDS to more countries to join it as well as stakeholders, brands and industry players to partner with it.
ACDS will use these recognitions as a huge feather in its cup to consolidate its pioneering role in championing esports development and promotion across Africa.
