CEHRA HUMANITY PROJECT MOURNS COMRADE ABIODUN AREMU
(A.KA. AREMSON) - 'A REVOLUTIONARY LEADER.'

The Centre for Economic and Human Rights Advancement (CEHRA HUMANITY PROJECT) received the news of the demise of Comrade Abiodun Aremu (a.k.a Aremson) on Sunday evening, the 12th of October 2025 with grief and sadness.

Aremson is a household name within labour and civil rights community in Nigeria. He dedicated his life and time to the struggle for the emancipation of the masses, enhancement of democratic rights and social justice.

Many of our young cadres in the struggle have at one time or the other had the privilege to be under his tutelage in the field of ideological and leadership training.

Comrade Abiodun Aremu's greatness and sincerity in the areas of service to humanity was unequal. The vacuum left behind by his demise may not be filled in decades to come.

Our condolences to the entire family of Comrade Abiodun Aremu, the Joint Action Front (JAF), the Amilcar Cabral Ideological School (ACIS), the Nigeria Labour union and the Civil Society at large.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY CELEBRATION, TODAY 10TH OCTOBER, 2023.
THEME: "MENTAL HEALTH IS A UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS"
- CEHRA HUMANITY PROJECT CELEBRATES....

Today, 10th October, 2023 is another significant day in the International agenda. It is a day set aside to mark the "World Mental Health Day". The maiden edition of which was held in Cape Town, South Africa in October 1992.

To highlight the significance of this day, it is imperative to understand what mental health is all about. Mental health relates to all that has to do with human emotion, human psychology as well as the social well-being of human being. Human feelings, thinking and actions are subjects of human mentality.

This implies that, the state of our mental health often determines our actions. In other words, a depressed person with bad mental health could make a negative conclusion.

We have seen people commit su***de. No justification for su***de, anyway. Most of these actions are activated by the state of our mental health. A mentally sound and healthy person would most likely overruled the option of su***de or any other ill actions as a conclusion.

Essentially, 'Mental Health Day Celebration' demands much publicity by everyone going by the level of, and rate at which Nigerians are afflicted with mental health illness.

Moreover, the present socio-economy and security situations in the country is more than enough cause for negative mental health. CEHRA HUMANITY PROJECT calls on our government to live up to expectation by rising above mere aim for selfishness and corrupt practices, but give adequate response to the yearnings and aspirations the masses.

The Civil Society organizations, religious groups and the citizens should endeavor to cooperate with and hold political office holders accountable towards achieving a mentally healthy society. The leadership and membership of CEHRA HUMANITY PROJECT are committed in this regard.
