OWERRE EBEIRI CONFEDERATED ASSEMBLY: OWERRE EBEIRI TOWN UNION AND ALAOMA-OWERRE EBEIRI
PROGRESS REPORT
The President General of Owerre Ebeiri Town Union ,Orlu Local Government Council, Sir Emeka Okanta last week led members of the new Dynamic Executive Council of OTA on their first courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Orlu Local Government Hon. Pst Chris Mbarie. They were accompanied by the Councilor representing Owerre Ebeiri Ward , the Majority Leader and Chair works committee of the 7th legislative Council Hon Magnus Chibuike Okorie.
PG introduced his newly elected team and briefed Council Chairman on the progress made so far since their swearing in and assumption of office on Saturday 30th August, 2025.
Council Chairman was full of joy and appreciated their visit and congratulated the PG and his Team on their successful election and assumption of office.
OWERRE EBEIRI DEVELOPMENT UNION (ODU) TO REVERT TO OWERRE EBEIRI TOWN UNION (OTU):
This is in accordance with the government's gazetted nomenclature as issued on the certificate that was made available by the state government during Rochas Okorocha administration.
OWERRE EBEIRI CONFEDERATED ASSEMBLY
The now two communities of same parentage OWERRE EBEIRI AND ALAOMA- OWERRE EBEIRI through their PGs Sir Emeka Okanta and Chief Cosmas Ukwuoma respectively have agreed on behalf of the two autonomous communities to work together under the name OWERRE EBEIRI CONFEDERATED ASSEMBLY
for a common goal and to bring about speedy development of their common patrimony vis-a-vis markets, schools, road, sports etc. Process of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission is at conclusion stage after which certificates will be issued.
ABROAD AND DIASPORA:
Town Unions Branches abroad and Diaspora will transform and subsume under the confederacy. The constitution presently under review shall spell out the modus operandi in detail.
OWERRE EBEIRI MOTOR PARK, ORLU
Orlu Lacal Government Chairman hinted establishment of Orlu Metropolitan Motor Park in Owerre Ebeiri using the present location of Ögbó oshishi. To this effect, the chairman is considering relocation of Ögbó oshishi to Umuowa.
NKWO OWERRE MARKET:
*suspended development while inventries are being taken.
*arrangement have been made to debush many areas overgrown by weeds after which the ban on development shall be lifted.
* Conducted inspection of erosion prone areas and roads leading to the market and other roads that need urgent attention.
COMMUNITY SCHOOL FARM LAND:
conducted inspection of the St Martins /Community school farm land with a view to puting it into more proffitable effective use .
COMMUNITY PRIMARY AND PREMIER PRIMARY SCHOOLS:
* conducted inspection of the two primary schools both of which are in a state of dilapidation. Both are nothing to write home about and are not fit for academic activities.
SECURITY:
gone a long way in setting mechineries in motion for a safe community. OWERRE EBEIRI CONFEDERATED ASSEMBLY (OCA) is collaborating with neighbouring communities of Umuowa, Umuna, Amaifeke, Okporo, Eziachi, Umuzike
to bring about a safe region working hand in hand with local and state governments. They have the detail and modalities on their chest.
OWERRE EBEIRI SPORTS COUNCIL INAUGURATED
The Union has inaugurated a formidable Sports Council and charged it with recruiting andvadministring sporting activities under the Federated Union. Renovation of St Martins Community School football pitch VIP stand is ongoing. Registration of interested villages capable of participating in the upcoming yuletide games is also ongoing.
INAUGURATION OF OTHER COMMITTEES
Rest of the committees will be commissioned and inaugurated at the Representative Council meeting scheduled on Monday 3rd November, 2025 at CWO Hall of St Martins Catholic church Owerre Ebeiri.
