The Photography Class continued on day 2 with our facilitator, Ogungbamila Temitope Juliana taking the boys through the various types of pictures, and genres in photography.

After a brief theoretical class, the boys were tasked with taking pictures and practicing what they have learnt so far.

Day 2 of Lens & Vision commenced with a mentorship session with Mr. Ezekiel Akinrinade Ezekiel Olaoluwa AKINRINADE.

Mr. Ezekiel spoke on Starting Again. Using his personal experience as the anchor for the session, he shared practical lessons and insight about starting again.

Replicating what a man did for him with the boys, he asked the boys to close their eyes and envision where they would be in the next few years. Not only did the boys capture the future with their eyes, they transfered it to their journals for future reference.

This was more than an activity, it was a sacred moment as each boys took this moment like their lives depended on it.

The Photography Class commenced in earnest, as our facilitator, Ogungbamila Temitope Juliana introduced the boys to the world of photography.

From explaining the importance of photography to exploring the tool used in photography, our facilitator ensure that no one was left behind in this learning experience.

And beyond acquiring the knowledge, the boys were able to practice what they were taught.

She welcomed the boys to the program, walked them through the vision and mission of Debra’s Palace Initiative, and the purpose of Lens & Vision.

A seasoned educator, facilitator, and youth development advocate, Mr. Akinrinade brings years of experience helping young people make better choices, build capacity, and pursue purposeful growth.

His journey is a powerful reminder that where you start does not have to determine where you end up.
At Lens & Vision, he will be sharing his experience and insights with boys as they learn, create, and explore new possibilities through photography and the creative industry.

We’re Excited to Welcome Rite Foods as a Partner!
Great impact is made possible when organizations come together around a shared commitment to young people.

We are delighted to have Rite Foods partner with us for Lens & Vision 2026, supporting our 5-Day Intensive Photography Class for boys aged 16–21 in Abeokuta.

Their support will help create a more enriching learning experience for the boys as they spend five days learning, creating, connecting, and discovering new possibilities through photography and mentorship.
