Digital safety for women today is not just about passwords or secure devices. It’s about being able to exist, speak, work, and connect online without fear.

The digital world opens opportunities, but also risks: harassment, impersonation, intimidation, and non-consensual content often push women offline.

Real safety isn’t just logging off, it requires guidance, resources, and support systems. Women need spaces to ask questions and learn how to protect themselves.

This Women’s Month, join SafeHerClinic as we unpack digital safety for women and share practical ways to stay protected. Stay tuned for details!

Cybersecurity journeys are often shaped by curiosity, discipline, and community.

Meet Tatiane Leal from Brazil, a fellow in Cohort 2 of the CyberSafe API Security Training Programme by CyberSafe Foundation.

After years of learning on her own, Tatiane joined the training to collaborate with women from around the world who share a passion for cybersecurity. Through discipline and early mornings dedicated to labs and research, she successfully built new skills in API security.

As we countdown to graduation week, we're celebrating all that Tatiane has achieved and wish her all the best as she plans to continue building her expertise through labs, research, and writing, as well as  pursuing a career in cybersecurity.

Some stories remind us why access to the right training matters.

Before joining the CyberSafe API Security Training Program, Zaharah Nakawungu was already working in software development, building APIs and backend systems. What she hadn’t explored deeply yet was how to secure them, and that realization pushed her to take the next step in her cybersecurity journey.

The program challenged her in many ways, from running technical labs to working through real API security scenarios. But the hands-on learning and support from the community helped her build the skills and confidence she needed. Just weeks after graduating, Zaharah secured a role as an IT Security Specialist - Applications & Software Security.

As we look back at stories like Zaharah’s, we’re also looking ahead. Cohort 2 of the program will be graduating this March, and follow along as we continue sharing more My APISEC Story spotlights and introduce the women preparing to take the next step in their cybersecurity careers.

Every cybersecurity journey starts somewhere.

Before joining the CyberGirls Fellowship by CyberSafe Foundation, Faustina was interested in tech but unsure how to begin or how to break into the industry. Like many young women, the interest was there, but the pathway wasn’t always clear.

Through the fellowship, she gained structured cybersecurity training, mentorship, hands-on labs, and a supportive community of women learning and growing together.

Today, Faustina is building her cybersecurity skills and becoming part of a growing network of women contributing to Africa’s digital future. Follow this series as we continue spotlighting CyberGirls Success Stories.

Today is International Women’s Day, a moment to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere.

But celebration must also come with honesty.

For many women, the internet is not always a safe space. Behind the screens are experiences that often go unspoken, harassment, impersonation, manipulation, and threats that can quietly reshape how women show up online and in their communities.

Too often, these experiences are faced alone.

Today we are launching SafeHerClinic; a space created to support women navigating digital harm and technology-facilitated abuse. It exists to provide guidance, support, and a path forward for women who need help reclaiming their safety and confidence online.

The voices in this video represent stories many women recognize. By sharing them, we acknowledge the reality, and remind every woman experiencing digital harm that support is possible.

This International Women’s Day, we are not just raising awareness.
We are building solutions.

International Women’s Day is a celebration;  but also a reminder.

Millions of girls are still out of school. Women dominate higher education yet struggle to reach leadership roles.

Globally, women face harassment, abuse, and violence at alarming rates, online and offline. In cybersecurity, women hold just 22% of roles, and few reach the C-suite.

At CyberSafe Foundation, we turn awareness into action. Through our programs, we empower women with education, technical training, leadership opportunities, and digital protection.

Today, we honor women breaking barriers, and we continue building a world where they can lead, innovate, and thrive safely.

Some opportunities don’t just give you a certification, they change how you see your own potential.

Meet Anna Kamene 🇰🇪, a CyberGirls+ participant who completed the Web Application Defence (GWEB) certification through the CyberGirls+ programme by CyberSafe Foundation in partnership with SANS Institute.

What started as an intensive learning experience quickly became something deeper, a shift in mindset. Today, Anna is exploring API security, bug bounty practice, and new opportunities to contribute to the cybersecurity community.

This is the heart of CyberGirls+: opening doors to advanced, globally recognised training and helping women step into bigger possibilities.
