The Foundation which was formerly known as Prince Decson Non-Governmental Organization (PDNGO) was established year 2000, after a r

esearch conducted by the founder Eustace E.C Njoku in 1999, commenced operation in the year 2001 with its enlightenment and orientation programme tagged: Youth Awareness Campaign on Drug Abuse and Crime, HIV/AIDS and Other Related Vices. The first programme of the Foundation was held on 18th July, 2003 after which it was registered with NDLEA under the administration of Alhaji Lafiaji Bello. In 2004, NAFDAC and NDLEA went into collaboration. The NGO was ones rated as the leading NGO of the network, by the Network of NGOs for Drug Demand Reduction in Nigeria (DDRD). Also in recognition of the Foundations' efforts; in April 2005, the president of the Foundation Eustace E. C Njoku was nominated by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to represent Nigeria at a Regional Workshop of National Drug Control and HIV/AIDS Prevention, under the auspices of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office Headquarters in Darker Senegal. The programme was organized for West and Central African Countries. Again, in December 2005, the president of the NGO, Eustace E.C Njoku was also, nominated for training on capacity building in Resource and Control on approach on Drug Abuse Prevention in Nigeria, at NDLEA Regional Academy for Drug Control Signal Barracks, Katon, Rikos, Jos, Platue State. The training was sponsored by UNODC, Abuja Country Representative. After running a test programme for the period of three years, the Foundation had its Grand Finale and Award Presentation on 30th March, 2006 were Late Prof. Dora Nkem Akuyili of blessed memory was honoured as the First Grand Matron and every NAFDAC D.G automatic Grand Matron of the Foundation. In 2009, the Foundation got fully registered with corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in accordance with the provision of the law. And since then, the Foundation has hit the ground running and has ensured that the war against drug abuse and crime, HIV/AIDS and other related vices, violent crimes, armed robbery, unemployment, prostitution child abuse, r**e, premature s*x that most times give rise to unwanted pregnancies and abortion was taken to secondary schools. Also in the bid to achieve our aim and objectives, the Foundation has partnered with a lot of institutions and organizations, in an effort to advance its aspiration of goals with the aim to actualize its objectives and this has also earned the Foundation some recognition. In April 2017, the Foundation got fully accredited by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and in May 2017, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government endorsed the Foundation with a recommendation letter; identifying the roles and contribution of our NGO towards youth development and advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, Drug Abuse and Crime within the Local Government. A survey carried out in 2017, as research to evaluate the impact accessement of our NGO programme activities, as evidence based result; proved positive. The analyses and data interpretation of the survey specified the strategic roles the Foundation is playing in the human development and youth empowerment. It also, identified the serious contributions the Foundation is making to the social and human development of our nation. In 2016, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), identified with the Foundation and directly started supporting, working and officially participated in our NGO programmes in 2017. In the UNODC report, after 2018 edition of our Foundation youth cardinal programme on drug use prevention; rated our Foundation initiative as the recent Best Practices Initiated in Nigeria. In September 2019, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organized a Drug Prevention Treatment and Care Sensitization Training, for the personnel of Prince Decson Savechild Life Foundation, Under the auspices of Response to Drugs and Organised Crime in Nigeria and funded by the European Union. In January 2020, Lagos State Government under the auspices of Ministry of Education , District V Headquarters; endorsed our Foundation with a recommendation letter, laying emphases on the contribution and impact the NGO is making on the lives of the youth. We therefore, wish to state that the Foundation has come to stay and determined to carry on with our mandate in order to save the Nigerian child from the menaces of drug abuse and crime prevention.
