First baby of the year at Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, Campbell street, Lagos Island on January 1st, 2026.
The Rotary Club of Lagos Central celebrated the First Baby of the Year initiative by recognizing newborns and outstanding healthcare staff at the hospital.

Today, Thursday 7th August, 2025, our Club, Rotary Club of Lagos Central, served our community under Rotary’s Maternal and Child Health Project.

The venue was at Sura Health Centre, Simpson street, Lagos Island.

The turnout was impressive, the staff and expectant mothers were all happy to receive us. It was a very charitable gesture.

We thank God for a successful Mother & Child Health Project day.

Many thanks to all present and all donors. Special thanks to Rot. Dr. Olatutu Sholeye for the additional provisions; it went a long way and added smiles to the faces of the recipients.

📌NOTICE OF POSTPONED OF MATERNAL AND CHILD CARE PROJECT DONATION AT SURA HEALTH CENTRE📌

Fellow Rotarians,
Please be informed that this programme will no longer take place tomorrow 31st July, 2025 because of the ongoing 7-day nationwide strike by the Nurses that began on 29th July.

The Matron said that we can come back for the presentation on 7th August, 2025, when the strike would have ended.

In view of this, the new arrangements are thus:

Please, let us adjust our itinerary to accommodate this new date.
