Our attention has been drawn to a misleading and false publication circulating across some online platforms alleging that Hon. Bonu Shanu Solomon emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Lagos State House of Assembly, Badagry Constituency1.

We wish to categorically state that the information is entirely false, baseless, and a deliberate attempt to misinform members of the public and create unnecessary confusion within our great party.

For the avoidance of doubt, the APC primary election conducted on the 21st of May, 2026, was duly concluded and the official result was announced by the leadership of the party. The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress officially declared and certified Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph as the authentic winner and duly elected APC candidate for Lagos State House of Assembly, Badagry Constituency 1.

Any contrary claim or self-declaration by any individual or group should therefore be disregarded by party faithful, supporters, and the general public.

Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph remains committed to the ideals of democracy, party unity, and the continued development of Badagry Constituency 1 He appreciates the overwhelming support, trust, and confidence reposed in him by delegates, party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women groups, and the good people of Badagry.

We urge all APC members and supporters to remain calm, focused, and law-abiding, while avoiding the spread of unverified information capable of causing division within the party.

Furthermore, reputable national newspapers in their yesterday editions also reported the victory of Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph at the APC primary election, including Punch Newspaper page 24 and The Nation Newspaper page 34, thereby reaffirming the authenticity and credibility of the officially announced result.

The victory of Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph at the APC primary election stands valid, official, and recognized by the leadership of the party.

My dear people of Badagry Constituency 1,

I am deeply humbled and grateful for the confidence you have reposed in me by electing me as the APC flag bearer for the House of Assembly, Badagry Constituency 1, in the just concluded primary election.

This victory belongs to all of us: to the leaders, elders, women, youths, and every party faithful who stood firm and believed in our vision for a greater Badagry. Your support, prayers, and votes have spoken loudly.
