Nigeria’s decision to sign a security MOU with Saudi Arabia is a glaring red flag.
At a time when many Nigerians fear creeping Islamization, the government has chosen a nation with zero churches as its “security partner,” while ignoring the United States or Israel. Countries with real experience and credibility in fighting extremist violence. It’s a move that simply cannot be defended.
And the pattern is now obvious: the same elements who loudly reject U.S. military assistance suddenly run to Saudi Arabia with open arms. This isn’t strategy it’s religiouso loyalty dressed up as national policy. The implications are dangerous.
Minister Matawalle involvement only deepens suspicion. His actions point to a political script, not a security solution. Meanwhile, the President seems distracted by 2027 calculations, leaving the country exposed. Even more ironic, Saudi Arabia itself survives on American intelligence, yet they claim they want to offer Nigeria help and Matawalle jump at it with hidden agenda. His excuses collapse the moment you examine them.
Nigerians must not sleep on this. The agenda is unfolding in plain sight. And the loud defenders of this deal figures like Femi Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri, and others are becoming liabilities, not voices of reason. Their positions increasingly undermine the safety of millions of citizens, especially Christians who continue to pay the highest price from extremist violence.
