We are keeping our word.

We promised that once the Children's Library is open, we'll resume our major community conferences and we're kickstarting with the Leadership Conference for School Prefects in Ajegunle which is slated for Friday May 29th (please see flyer for more details.)

Take a look at these recent extracts (photos attached) from the drainage at Mile 2 which is causing some serious flood. The people who blocked the drainages with these waste might end up in positional leadership of our nation.

How then do we progress?๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ
This conference is FREE. Tell a school about it.

Thanks to our line up of Speakers and Sponsors. Wait for it.

Today, we didnโ€™t just celebrate boys โ€ฆ we celebrated purpose, potential, leadership, and the future. ๐Ÿ’™

The International Day of the Boy Child is a beautiful reminder that every boy deserves to be seen, heard, guided, and empowered to become a positive force in the society. From the smiles, laughter, games, and meaningful conversations to the moments of inspiration shared, every part of today left a lasting impact.

๐Ÿ™ŒWhat's a community library without collaborations? We are deeply grateful to our collaborator - Boys Mentorship Foundation, that used our space to host their event for boys in Ajegunle. They were simply incredible! Covering topics around drugs, purposeful friendship, habits and goals.

Happy International Day of the Boy Child๐Ÿฅฐโค๏ธ๐Ÿฅฐโค๏ธ

One spark. Just one spark and there's a fire.

The gift of reading is like the gift of a map, they'll find their way. A thing we owe the Gen. Alphas.

At our community's children library in Ajegunle which provides free afterschool literacy services to the public, we are happy to know that children from both private and public schools visit in their numbers, afterschool. More happy to hear community members feedback as in the attached.

It takes discipline to hold a book and read through. The importance of developing a reading culture can never be over-emphasized. With as many as 189 children visiting per day, the future looks very promising.

๐Ÿ˜ŠThe faces you hardly see but are right behind the scene fixing things. Volunteering.

We have a database of about 30 volunteers from the community where this children's library is located. Many of whom signed up to volunteer with us after attending our yearly Leadership conference for school Prefects in Ajegunle.

They're either helping children at the library's ICT hub to learn about tech. skills, or assisting struggling readers at the library's reading clinic to learn how to read or they're performing admin. tasks like shelving of books, book borrowing/returning, helping children find best books to read, planning community programs or ...there's always a lot to do and we value each of them.๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒป

One day, a donor gave us say N80,000 to buy refreshment for the kids he read to. Funds given was more than the cost of snacks quoted and I asked our volunteers what should be done. They said we should upgrade the refreshment for the kids and use up the money for them since it was meant for them and the upgraded refreshment would mean a lot the kids.

I was impressed by their selflessness and value for the children they serve - leadership.

Volunteering isn't a culture in Nigeria, but it shapes communities. Well done guys!โค

You volunteer your time
Your resources
Your wealth of knowledge
And freely share your network of friends with us which has significantly helped the Children's library and indeed, our organization -TLCI, grow.

You are humble
Passionate about shaping lives
Desirous of seeing unguided youth and children become all God has earmarked for them.

We honestly can't thank you enough for every impact you make through volunteering with us. Just recently, our solar and security installations are now possible at the library because of the people you linked us with. May your days on earth be filled with God's blessings. Happy birthday Pst Fred!

With love,
Children's Library, Ajegunle.

Modern libraries serve as vital grassroots hubs for community development. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค

Children's community library is an attraction for the engagement of key stakeholders and the support of human capital development at the grassroots.

๐Ÿ™Œ Shout out to all the community members and grassroots mobilizers in Ajegunle who visit the children's library to appreciate what we do (๐Ÿ˜Šsorweee to those we forgot to take a photo with.) We value your kind words. Together we can.

We were shocked! Errrm...inspired too.๐Ÿ˜Š

Honestly, we're proudly building something phenomenal in Nigeria's reading and literacy space which would snowball overtime. Safe to also say that we're inspiring communities to revisit reading.

Tell us how a group of children led by a Minder who mobilized about 9 children from Orile (a 50 minute distant community) just to read at our community library for children in Ajegunle.

She said, when she first heard from Orile that there was a public Children's Library in Ajegunle, awestrucked, she went, "...in Ajegunle? Ajegunle?" Then they visited, read to stupor and left impressed - definitely, with a change of perception about Ajegunle.

From Canada to Ajegunle.

He once lived in this community. He's been a great support from the first small library and after his recent visit, he's supporting the ICT Hub of the children's library ensuring children in Ajegunle are digital literate; leaving no child behind.

Our Guest Reader was Steve Omo Edwards - as he read to his younger selves.

Free ICT class begins SOOOOOON!

From Benin Republic to Ajegunle, these Researchers visited, in awe of the children's library as a symbol of hope for a community they're researching on - Ajegunle, one they said, as they walked through its streets, is a community seeking brighter prospects.

They were highly impressed by the library concept, saying it's nothing like they've seen.๐Ÿ˜Cheeeerio! Thank you guys for the compliment.

Someday in Nigeria, in every local ward, there will be a vibrant and purpose built children's library that shapes children and teens toward becoming active and responsible citizens.
We started it.

From the UK to Ajegunle, an impressed donor visited the children's library in Ajegunle to appreciate the work we do, analyze impact and then mesmerized us with yet another profound contribution.

Aligning with our culture of excellence, the Onyema's family (Mr Uche Onyema of the Airpeace Airline family) said it's morally instructive that no staff of our organization earns less than the minimum wage. This implies that they're shouldering our additional staff salaries onwards (6 extras) and upgrading existing staff's which is a huge support to our expansion and Dianna Ion 's donations. Thanks to the Onyema's.

This gesture is in continuity of the legacy of his wife, Mrs Eunice Onyema whose contributions to the library were profound before her loss to cancer. If you visit the FoodCourt at the library,
you'll see more of her beautiful works. She'll always be missed.โค.
