Stop the bite. Stop the spread. ๐Ÿ›‘๐ŸฆŸ

Today is World Malaria Day.

In Nigeria, Malaria is so common that we often dismiss it as "just stress" or a slight fever. But the reality is that it remains one of the highest causes of illness in our communities, particularly affecting pregnant women and young children.

At Albertiqs Extra Helping Hands Foundation (AEHHF), our health advocacy focuses on action. Malaria is 100% preventable and treatable, but we have to do the work to protect our neighborhoods.

Be an "Extra Helping Hand" in the fight against Malaria today:
๐Ÿ›‘ Clear stagnant water: Blocked gutters and open containers are breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
๐Ÿ›‘ Sleep under treated nets: It remains one of the most effective ways to protect your family at night.
๐Ÿ›‘ Test before you treat: Don't guess! Always get a rapid test before self-medicating for Malaria.

When we clean our environment and test early, we protect the whole community. Letโ€™s end the bite! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒ

Are your gutters clean? Tag a community champion who always keeps their environment safe! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ

Health is a fundamental right, not a luxury. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’œ

When the UN announced the 2026 International Womenโ€™s Day theme as "Rights. Justice. Action.", we knew exactly what our action needed to be.

Words are powerful, but true empowerment requires healthy bodies and healthy minds. That is why Albertiqs Extra Helping Hands Foundation (AEHHF) took our mission straight to the heart of the community at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Isolo.

For our IWD 2026 celebration, we bypassed the boardrooms and set up a comprehensive, free medical outreach specifically for the women who keep our communities running.

Our medical volunteers delivered:
๐Ÿฉบ Vital blood pressure monitoring and cardiovascular checks.
๐Ÿฉบ One-on-one professional health consultations.
๐Ÿฉบ Essential medical guidance and support for mothers, grandmothers, and community leaders.

A woman cannot fight for her economic or educational rights if she is fighting preventable health crises in silence. By bringing healthcare directly to them, we are ensuring that these phenomenal women have the physical strength to match their incredible resilience.

When we invest in a woman's health, her family thrives, her business stays open, and the entire community gains. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพโœจ

Drop a ๐Ÿ’œ in the comments to celebrate the amazing medical volunteers who made this possible! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ

It is a Medical Condition. Not a Curse. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿง

Today, we wear purple for Purple Day, the global day for Epilepsy Awareness.

In Nigeria, epilepsy is one of the most misunderstood medical conditions. It is often surrounded by silence, fear, and dangerous myths. People lose their jobs, drop out of school, and are isolated from society because of these misconceptions.

At Albertiqs Extra Helping Hands Foundation (AEHHF), we are committed to replacing fear with facts. Letโ€™s set the record straight today:

โŒ MYTH: Epilepsy is a spiritual attack or a curse.
โœ… FACT: Epilepsy is a neurological (brain) disorder. Anyone can develop it.

โŒ MYTH: Epilepsy is contagious through saliva during a seizure.
โœ… FACT: You CANNOT catch epilepsy from another person. It is 100% non-contagious.

โŒ MYTH: You should force a spoon into the mouth of someone having a seizure.
โœ… FACT: NEVER put anything in their mouth! You can break their teeth or block their airway.

Be an "Extra Helping Hand" โ€“ Here is what to do if someone has a seizure:
1๏ธโƒฃ Stay calm and time the seizure.
2๏ธโƒฃ Gently roll them onto one side to help them breathe.
3๏ธโƒฃ Cushion their head with something soft (like a jacket).
4๏ธโƒฃ Stay with them until it ends and they are fully conscious.

People living with epilepsy deserve our empathy, our support, and their dignity. Let's build a Lagos where medical conditions are treated with care, not stigma.

Itโ€™s Just a Cough... Until It Isn't. ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ›‘

Today is World Tuberculosis (TB) Day.

In many of our communities, a persistent cough is often dismissed as just a cold, the weather, or even a "spiritual attack." But ignoring the signs costs lives.

At Albertiqs Extra Helping Hands Foundation (AEHHF), our health advocacy mandate is built on one simple truth: Knowledge is the Best Medicine. TB is dangerous, but here is the most important fact you will read today: Tuberculosis is 100% preventable and curable. Do not ignore these 3 warning signs:
๐Ÿ”น A cough lasting more than 2 weeks.
๐Ÿ”น Severe night sweats and fever.
๐Ÿ”น Unexplained weight loss and chest pain.

If you or someone you know is experiencing this, do not hide. Do not self-medicate. TB testing and treatment are completely FREE in government Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and DOTS centers across Lagos and Nigeria.

Letโ€™s stop the stigma. Letโ€™s share facts, not fear. When we look out for each otherโ€™s health, we build a stronger community.

Your Action Today: Share this post to your Story. You might just save a life today without even knowing it. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

Happy International Womenโ€™s Day!

Today, the world celebrates women, but at Albertiqs Extra Helping Hands Foundation (AEHHF), we don't just celebrateโ€”we act.

We dedicate today to the resilient Nigerian women who inspire our mission every single day:
๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ The Mothers of Mushin Market: Who turn small stalls into generational survival.
๐Ÿ“š The Girls of FEBMEX Secondary School: Who break through barriers to stay in the classroom.
๐Ÿฅ The Fighters in Isolo General Hospital: Who show us what true strength looks like in the face of health challenges.

Empowerment is an action word. When we support a womanโ€™s health, educate a girl, or fund a female-led business, the entire community gains.

To every woman reading this: Your voice matters. Your hustle matters. Your life matters. Keep breaking boundaries. ๐Ÿš€

How are you celebrating the women in your life today? Tag a woman who inspires you in the comments and letโ€™s give her her flowers! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ

Today is World NGO Day.

Across Nigeria, Non-Governmental Organizations step into the gaps. Where there is poverty, illness, or inequality, NGOs bring hope, resources, and action.

At Albertiqs Extra Helping Hands Foundation (AEHHF), we do not just see the statistics; we see the people.
We see the female hawker in Mushin who just needs a little seed capital to stabilize her family.
We see the young girl in Ejigbo who needs hygiene education to stay in school with dignity.
We see the Sickle Cell warrior who needs to know they are not fighting alone.

Driven by the vision of our Founder, Mr. Gideon Albert, and the on-ground leadership of our Country Manager, Chilaka Philip Chikadibia, our mandate is simple: Humanity in Action.

Today, we celebrate the entire humanitarian ecosystem:
๐Ÿค Our Volunteers: The hands and feet of our mission who brave Lagos traffic to serve.
๐Ÿค Our Partners: Organizations and government bodies like the Ministry of Women Affairs, helping us amplify our reach.
๐Ÿค Our Donors: The backbone of our outreaches, turning empathy into financial support.

To every NGO worker, volunteer, and advocate out there: The work you do matters. You are holding the world together.

How to celebrate with us today:
Tag an NGO or a volunteer doing amazing work in your community and drop a ๐Ÿ’œ to celebrate them!

Today is World Day of Social Justice.

When we hear "Justice," we often think of lawyers, judges, and gavels. But at AEHHF, we define justice differently.

๐Ÿ”น Justice is a fed child. (Zero Hunger)
๐Ÿ”น Justice is a supported woman. (Economic Equity)
๐Ÿ”น Justice is access to a doctor. (Health Coverage)

In Nigeria, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening. The gap between those who have opportunities and those who need them is vast.

Our Mission: Bridging the Gap.
Every grant we give to a market woman in Mushin creates economic justice.
Every hygiene kit we give to a student in Ejigbo creates educational justice.

Letโ€™s build a society where "Fairness" isn't just a dream, but a reality for the common man.

How do YOU define justice?

AEHHF Brings Message of Hope and Empowerment to Mushin Market in Lagos, Nigeria"

Maximise the little support... while greater efforts are on the way."

These powerful words of encouragement from our team member, Mrs. Charity Woke, captured the spirit of our outreach at Mushin Market this week.

The AEHHF team, led by Executive Director Uche Anderson Udunze, met with the female hawkers and micro-business ownersโ€”the backbone of the market. We were there not only to share our mission of Women Empowerment and Child Advocacy but to offer immediate, tangible hope.

On behalf of our Founder, Mr. Gideon Albert, we distributed cash gifts to ~20 industrious women, marking Phase 1 of our new small-scale enterprise initiative.

It was a promising start, and a reminder that even "little support" can be the spark that keeps a dream alive. We are committed to returning and extending this vital work.
