I heard something profound recently, we humans approach dua like we approach our fellow man and because we get disappointed by the rejection from humans, we take that experience to when we are asking from Allah. Expecting to be disappointed so we make dua half-hearted, with one mind hopeful and the other, trying to be careful. Trying to avoid getting disappointed so we try to protect our hearts, ironically from the only one that would never disappoint you!!!

Here's the thing, Your Dua is not for anyone but for Allah! I know you'll say, of course it is, and shrug. But really, Who is Allah to you? Do you know Him? What do you think about Him? How do you see Him? Through the lens of other people? How do you know Him, by what you hear? Have you experienced Him? How do you experience Him if you're not connected to Him?

Are you really connected to Him? Do you think He hears you? Does He answer you? Does He listen to you? Is He just up there on His throne or He's closest to you than you can imagine?

Allahuma balighna Ramadhan🤲🤲

Another Ramadhan, so many messages, a lot of plans and it seems like there's still so much to unpack in your heart. Time is not stopping and you don't know how it's going to be this year. Again you know Ramadhan is special, but you don't want to just keep hearin it from others, you want to feel it beyond the words, you want to be connected. But you don't know how! It feels overwhelming already!

You want to feel the lightness being described because your heart, your heart feels so heavy you could drown in it, so Ramadhan should just come and take it all away, but again, how does that work,  do you just read the Qur'an, observe tahjjud, cook, take care of the family, give Sadaqah or is there more to it?

Ramadhan is a gift and one that should be cherished deeply, but how do you cherish what you don't know How to unwrap? How do you use what you don't understand? How do you get what you are struggling to connect to especially when others seem to be having it better, but like gibberish you don't understand what they're describing?

Then this is for you! The Healing and Connecting Pre Ramadhan Workshop. A Workshop that takes you through the How's of healing, understanding and connecting to Allah through His words, getting to know Him and connecting deeply to Him beyond what you think or hear.

As Salam alaekum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

I write on behalf of every muslim woman who has felt the turbulence of the storm of  infertility. For the Muslim woman that has lost almost all of her faith because she keeps wondering when her own turn would come to carry her child, for the Muslim woman who longs for a positive pregnancy test, for the Muslim woman whose heart and soul have felt like it was wrenched out of her when she lost her precious baby due to a miscarriage and its difficult getting pregnant again. And yet she still holds on to that little faith of hers, hoping that one day her turn would come to carry and nurture her child. For that woman who can't even talk about her struggles because it would seem like she wants to punish others for having children or maybe she's jealous or worse still the most common "hushing" comment, she doesn't believe enough, she lacks eeman.

I write to tell you that she doesn't lack eeman, infact that she stands here is an evidence of that little faith she has left. I write to ask you to please support in whatever way you can, most especially with your kindness (not pity) and your duas. If you can send her resources where she can pull strength from. There are few avenues in the Muslim community that consider infertility struggle as topic of discussion much less a call for help and support. Here is one of the very few that's coming up and we hope you key into this by inviting every muslimah you know going through infertility to come for this support program as we can assure that she would be pulling from a well of strength and tawakkul that she desperately needs at this time. Don't just invite her, please encourage her to come to as she might be too frustrated to do anything at this time. Please don't leave her.

Dear sister(s),

I know you're looking at this flier/program like what's your business, or maybe you feel it's unnecessary, or maybe you think you don't want to do too much, or maybe its the fact that you're used to struggling on your own or maybe you have someone that you know might gain from this but you're wondering if you won't be hurting her or reminding her of her "predicament".

I can assure you that it's normal to feel that way, but I can also assure you that this event would be totally worth every kobo you spend on it. Its not your regular program, it is a life changing program.

Sometimes we feel this distance from Allah especially when we're waiting and we try to grasp at straws, anything that would close the gap for us, we struggle to feel Him especially when we are in desperate need of something. It can feel different for different people depending on the situation.

For the waiting Muslim Mum it can feel like Allah isn't listening or maybe it's because your sins are a lot hence why you keep asking and He's not giving, we come up with so many things to fill our time especially when we are frustrated in the wait and tawakkul looks like an abstract phenomenon and you begin to wonder if Allah is really near!

You are not alone sis, Allah does love you, He is listening to you, He heard all you've said, He knows the pain of your heart, don't turn away from Him, instead stay in His presence, hold on to Him, as broken as you feel, take it to Him. He is near, even/especially when it doesn't feel like it.

Are you a muslimah trying to conceive, do you feel like you've been asking and Allah seems so far away, do you just feel like ranting and letting all your frustrations out to someone who understands, do you feel alone and wish you knew Muslim women that have walked this path and you wonder at how they were able to move? A story that stood out in our conversation tonight with our sisters and was the story of Zakariyyah.

He was a man in pain, with fear of not having a child to inherit him, he was a man that had everything going against him, his age, his wife's age etc. Yet He stood with all the conviction in his heart. Trusting fully in His Rabb.

You can feel his conviction when he said to Allah, "walam akum bi duaa ika Robbi shaqiyyan" I have never been disappointed in my prayer to you. (Suratul Maryam vs 4)

He had everything going against him, it was a seemingly impossible situation. But yet.. He prayed, with absolute trust in who his Lord is.

And Allah rewarded his conviction with a son.

Today we were reminded that Allah is indeed Al-Wakeel, and Al- Mujeeb.

Don't stop praying sisters. Allah is with you and verily He is sufficient for you. Keep asking and with all of your heart, trust that He would answer you and you would be pleased.
