A PICTURE OF UNITY: HRM ONITIRE JOINS STAKEHOLDERS AT SUCCESSFUL ITIRE PEACE TALK 2026

Itire, Lagos - 24 September 2026

This group photograph captures a significant moment from the just-concluded Itire Peace Talk 2026 (IPT2026), bringing together community stakeholders under the banner of peace, unity and collective responsibility.

At the centre of the gathering was HRM Oba Tajudeen Ishola Odubiyi (Odunburu II), the Onitire of Itireland, alongside community stakeholders and participants who came together to support constructive dialogue on the future, safety and peaceful development of Itireland. Published sources also identify Oba Tajudeen Ishola Odubiyi as the Onitire of Itireland and use the royal style Odunburu II.

Held on Monday, 21 September 2026 at the Palace of the Onitire of Itireland, IPT2026 carried the theme “Peace, Unity and Security: Our Collective Responsibility.”

The photograph reflects the spirit of the event: traditional leadership, community stakeholders, security representatives, youth and residents standing together around a shared commitment to a peaceful and united Itireland.

The King Ogunremi Foundation (KOF) and Itire Youth Community Empowerment Initiative (IYCEI) extend their appreciation to His Royal Majesty and everyone who participated and contributed to the success of the Peace Talk.

The event has concluded, but the work continues.

HON. KAZEEM OLAYINKA MUYIDEEN ENDORSES ITIRE PEACE TALK 2026

Lagos, Nigeria | 19 September 2026

The Itire Youth Community Empowerment Initiative (IYCEI) has welcomed the endorsement of Hon. Kazeem Olayinka Muyideen, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Mushin Constituency II, for the forthcoming Itire Peace Talk 2026 (IPT2026). His constituency and Assembly membership are confirmed by the Lagos State House of Assembly’s official member record.

The endorsement followed a telephone messaging conversation on Thursday, 17 September 2026, between Hon. Muyideen and King Ogunremi, President of Itire Youth Community Empowerment Initiative (IYCEI) and founder of the King Ogunremi Foundation (KOF), during which they discussed the objectives of the Peace Talk and the importance of strengthening peace, unity and security within Itireland.

During the conversation, Hon. Muyideen expressed his support for the initiative. His engagement is particularly relevant to the event’s focus on community safety and youth engagement; in June 2025, he raised concerns in the Lagos Assembly about cult-related violence and youth unrest in Mushin Constituency II.

Itire Peace Talk 2026, themed “Peace, Unity and Security: Our Collective Responsibility,” will hold on Monday, 21 September 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Palace of the Onitire of Itireland.

The gathering will bring together traditional institutions, security agencies, community and religious leaders, youth and women representatives, market and trade associations, businesses and residents for constructive dialogue on building a safer and more united Itireland.

Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign DAAC RENEWS URGENT CALL FOR ACTION AGAINST ILLICIT DRUG ABUSE AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE

⚠️ VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED

The King Ogunremi Foundation (KOF), through its Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign (DAAC™), continues to raise alarm over the devastating consequences associated with illicit drug abuse among young people in Lagos State and across Nigeria.

The disturbing video accompanying this statement shows a young man displaying extremely erratic and unsafe behaviour in a public environment. While the footage alone cannot medically establish what substance, if any, was responsible for his condition, it presents a powerful reminder of the vulnerability and danger that can arise when young people experience substance misuse or other serious behavioural and health crises.

This is a clarion call to parents, guardians, schools, community leaders and concerned Nigerians: pay closer attention to the wellbeing, friendships, behaviour and challenges facing our children. Prevention must begin before a young person reaches crisis point.

Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign (DAAC™) also respectfully renews its appeal to His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and relevant State and Federal authorities to treat youth drug prevention as a matter requiring urgent and sustained intervention.

Awareness alone is not enough. Young people need education, mentoring, vocational skills, positive opportunities, community support and access to professional help.

The King Ogunremi Foundation will continue creating awareness and advocating for preventive action until this urgent issue receives the attention it deserves.

We must reach our young people before the drugs do.

King OgunremiI JOINS ELDERLY DANCE GROUP AS KOF DEVELOPS NEW WELLNESS INITIATIVE FOR WIDOWS

Founder of the King Ogunremi Foundation (KOF), King Ogunremi, recently joined an elderly community dance group in London as part of a practical observation into how loneliness, social isolation and loss of companionship can affect older adults, particularly widows.

Rather than observing from the sidelines, King Ogunremi participated directly in the session, joining older women in dance, music, movement and social interaction. The experience provided valuable insight into how regular community activities can create opportunities for friendship, physical activity, conversation, laughter and a renewed sense of belonging in later life.

The visit forms part of KOF’s developing work around the wellbeing of elderly widows and has inspired the creation of the KOF Golden Steps Dance & Wellness Club.

The new initiative will provide widows registered with the foundation with a welcoming environment for gentle dance, music, movement, companionship, social interaction and wellbeing activities.

Speaking about the experience, King Ogunremi said:

“Supporting our elderly mothers must go beyond financial assistance. Sometimes what they need most is our presence, companionship, conversation and an opportunity to feel active and connected again. Seeing the joy created through music and movement strengthened my belief that we must do more to tackle loneliness among our elderly widows.”

The KOF Golden Steps Dance & Wellness Club will be built around four core principles:

MOVEMENT • FRIENDSHIP • WELLBEING • JOY

The foundation emphasises that the programme is a community wellbeing and social-connection initiative, not a replacement for professional medical or mental-health services. Where additional support is required, appropriate professional signposting will be encouraged.

Through Golden Steps, KOF hopes to create regular opportunities for widows to remain active, develop friendships, participate in community life and know that they remain valued and celebrated.

No Widow Should Grow Old Feeling Forgotten.

King Ogunremi Foundation Introduces KOF Golden Steps Dance & Wellness Club

The King Ogunremi Foundation (KOF) is pleased to announce the launch of the KOF Golden Steps Dance & Wellness Club, a new wellbeing initiative created to support widows registered under the foundation through movement, social connection, friendship and joyful community participation.

The initiative was inspired by the foundation’s growing interest in understanding how loneliness and social isolation affect older adults, particularly widows who may experience reduced companionship following the loss of a spouse.

The KOF Golden Steps Dance & Wellness Club will provide a safe and welcoming environment where participants can enjoy dance, gentle physical activity, music, conversation and social interaction while promoting emotional wellbeing and a stronger sense of belonging.

The Club will officially launch on Friday, 4 September 2026, in celebration of the Foundation’s Matriarch, Mrs Janet Abeni Ogunremi.

Through Golden Steps, KOF seeks to remind society that ageing should not mean isolation. Our elderly mothers deserve opportunities to remain active, connected, celebrated and supported.
